Probably quite old to some, but watched a video from Brian Cox talking about the Fermi Paradox (bear with me, it is vaguely related) and he speaks about a Great Filter being an explanation for the paradox. One of the potential positioning of this filter being when we as a species are unable to unite and thereby end up ‘doing ourselves in’ rather than making a meaningful attempt at getting to the stars. He also suspected that space faring species may also have a short window of primacy before also fading or destroying themselves and therefore end up never seeing other such species.

Aren't punishments from EPL/EFL totally separate? If so doubt taking it now would prevent another rodgering right in the EfL

The entire political scene has shifted to the right to accommodate the division sown by both politicians and the media, this includes Labour. Thankfully Labour retain some of their public sector values, even if they perhaps suckle more readily on the teat of the super rich than previously. That is not a criticism of Labour, but more evidence of right wing power represented by money infiltrating all political parties. This general shift has meant traditional conservatism is no longer on the right in isolation, as the arrival of Reform has gone further appealing to the sown discontent, leaving the Tories looking both even more feckless and rudderless, this is because parties previously considered left leaning now habitat the some of the space previously more typically regarded as on the right, and this is inline with perceived public preference. This right leaning shift, typically shown in more isolationism (small boats, dog eating, them vs us, etc) risks snowballing as there is now few legitimate left leaning parties to add balance to political discourse. This means politics will naturally move further and further toward the right here and in the West as the politics of division (fear) holds a power that a more liberal outlook is having a hard time counteracting currently.

Seeing any official treat their office with such a selfish disregard is quite something.

Yes, having troops in surrounding NATO countries coupled with an agreement that should a further invasion occur, it gives the alliance the right to station troops within Ukraine borders would be quite an incentive.

Hit the bar, getting closer to scoring -
Seems better but think that is more because Chelsea were actually quite underwhelming

Yes, this timeline would seem sensible from a Russian perspective, and I agree sowing disharmony amongst potential targets is also a fairly known approach from Putin/Russia. Does suggest that intelligence from western nations needs to massively ramp over the same period, if not sooner, especially if the US will not so readily share.

Curious about the Poland thing if it is indeed the attention to attack Poland, then something must be different in the attempt. As they were unable to dislodge a stubborn Ukraine, unable to save face against a newly Nato’d Finland, so this would either be a more blustering misdirection/attempt or something far less palatable. Thankfully likely the former I would guess.

Looks decent and nothing really wrong with it, just slightly underwhelms ultimately. -

This passed me by at the time, but OMG, Balatro is so so good -
Speak repeatedly, speak loud, and in this cult of personality what you say barely matters. People hear what they want to hear, Brexit being the perfect example of this process brought to its natural conclusion.
