  1. Poor old Donny, always the bridesmaid
  2. I 100% would like to give him more chances than he has had, cannot imagine why we haven’t seen him more, although could guess and it’s nothing to do with his performance either this or last season.
  3. But that is loaded with assumptions, and condemning someone on the back of assumptions is unreasonable.
  4. Tbh, I barely want to comment as to his suitability as I personally don’t feel we have enough contemporary evidence either way, but I would certainly like to have that evidence!
  5. Would at least like the opportunity to have a good sample size, at least so we can be as informed and/or critical as we are of our other defenders. Sorry, once more assumed I was in the Nelson thread
  6. Wasn't yesterday an embryonic mixing it up approach? As we seemed more capable in the middle, rather than just relying on the wings. specifically down to JJ , following the recent welcome return of Winks.
  7. At some point, we will see those players (Skipp, Soumare, Ayew, etc) again, as we cannot run a full season + cups + cover injuries, without involving them, let’s just try not wet ourselves when they are starting/subbed on. Shouldn’t need saying, but this does not mean they are suddenly starters, as Marti seems to be settling on Winks/JJ, and for now, Jannik and Wout ( )
  8. He has had a couple of quieter games, but who cares?
  9. Did better than would have expected Ayew to do, and that will have to be enough for now!
  10. Thought CB in a two tend to form partnerships, so we might (hope) to see Okoli yes, but with Nelson as his partner, as an alternate pair.
  11. Ok. It is still very early in his tenure and if you want to decide this is ever as good as it’s going to get, fine, I would prefer to think our direction of travel is towards improvement. If you are too impatient to wait and see and would rather pass a definitive judgment now, then that is a you problem.
  12. Reckon we will see this CB pairing until the January window, when we may see Faes leave?
  13. Yet this game we have picked up 3 points despite that, as our attackers are producing again. Isn’t that down to manager? Don’t forget one of these CB that people would chase away with torches is actually decent despite the mistakes.
  14. Good lad, he has been on one of Trumps med beds I see.
  15. He does, even today he made a short pass which nearly put us in trouble, but removing Jannik also reduces our playmaking efforts, unlike Faes.
  16. I think regarding the Faes incident, it’s more a comment on what the game itself has become, that you should have been to be so conscious of what the referee might do in any given situation.
  17. Sign of the times, it’s easy to be cool by being negative, positivity is lame it seems,
  18. Yes, but wasn’t he also in the training videos ?
  19. When Abdul did his cheeky attempt and nearly caught the keeper out (stupid crossbar) I cannot decide if I would rather he scored, or Daka managed to nod in the rebound!
  20. Agreed, but a sensible pro should know enough to not let there be any doubt in the referees mind, especially relevant when it’s occurring against home fans.
  21. Easy to see why he would not usually replace Jannik, as Jannik’s weakness is normally predictable, I.e.; he is slow, and you can manage around that, but with Wout, his issues are it is unclear when his failures will emerge, and there ain’t no planning for that
  22. They are not comparable, so why compare, it’s not a zero sum game, strange comparison.
  23. Been a fair supporter of Ayew, but quite happy to admit I was wrong, Daka is just so much more impactfull
