Agreed, which is great. But over the last 10 years I expect these percentages to be very different.
-
You'd need to consider energy produce by fuel percentages to compare accurately.

Classic whataboutery. The point being made is that this individual should never have been granted asylum in the first place. This country took him in, housed, fed and cared for him, then he commits this horrendous act. We have enough home grown vile scum criminals, we don’t need to be importing anymore.

Not even top 3 in Europe. -
I accept that and take your point, but what I was trying to clumsily say was that everyone should be protected.

Nothing has been said on here that hasn't been discussed on the radio/tv today.

Trans people don't get any special protection, unjust violence against anyone should be condemned. But If a trans person is breaking the law, women should legally be able to protect themselves if necessary in their safe space, just as the Queen said she did yesterday. Rightly no one should be going out looking for trouble. The whole story/police reaction seems way over the top. I imagine charges will be dropped shortly.

Downing Street tells Met to focus on 'serious' crime in veiled swipe after Graham Linehan arrest https://mol.im/a/15058851 via https://dailym.ai/android Only a couple of weeks after telling Donald the UK has a proud history of free speech. Looks like someone high up in the Met has an agenda. Complete waste of police time, for a few tweets posted 5 months ago.

*sigh... I'm not denying that. In the meantime, we still need gas. And whether we import it or drill for it in are own land/sea, we'll still use the same amount. One day we'll have to move away from gas, no one really knows when that will be or what the replacement will look like.
-
I'm sure things will move on but let's not pretend that gas won't be the primary source of heating for several decades.
-
Maybe we should keep it for ourselves first, which would secure our energy needs as most homes in the UK have GCH. Renewables won't close that gap.
-
Energy security. So we're not relying so heavily on other countries for our gas and electric.

Is there a fire drill...🎶
-
Yep. If they could sort their human rights issues out they'd be highly/higher respected country. Successive UK government's have avoided long-term infrastructure as they won't get the credit once completed, nuclear energy for example.
