See if the sick **** Trump defends this by mocking British stabbing victims again

He seems to have had a good season at club level but he's never done it for England. Two goals in 37 caps and the last of those was nearly three years ago. Has never scored in a tournament, never scored against one of the bigger nations, didn't score once during world cup qualification. I know scoring isn't everything in his game, but if he wants to know why the nation remains sceptical then there's his answer.

To be honest, with what we know now about the width of the range of possible brexits, and the huge number of previously inconsidered potential consequences that are still becoming apparent, I don’t know how anyone can pull the democracy card and keep a straight face. It’s clear that the question posed in the referendum was woefully inadequate at conveying the real range of options and in no way gave the government any sort of democratic remit to decide which sort of brexit they would go for. May’s 2017 election shambles was an attempt at providing clarification which clearly didn’t work, far from providing a clear mandate it resulted in her having to use tax payer money to bribe the DUP to save her career and keep the Tories in power. There needs to be another vote on the terms of brexit, imho. I can accept there not being an option to remain - that part of it is done for at least another 6 years or so - but the public not getting a say in whether we get a hard crash brexit or a soft and secure brexit is an absolute affront to democracy. It’s the key political issue of our time and we’re being lead by a PM that working age people didn’t want and who has demonstrated her outstanding immorality on numerous occasions down a path that nobody has voted for. The Tories have made such an awful mess of this issue, and of the country, during their 8 years in power.

Doesn't mention transport costs. It doesn't matter if steak is retailed $10 cheaper per kilo when the additional transport costs are much higher than that. I don't know what the exact costs would be but wouldn't expect to get much change out of ten quid for sending a normal 1kg parcel to the US. Big companies would benefit from economies of scale but then these would be rapidly perishable goods in need of flawless refrigeration throughout, it's going to cost a fair whack isn't it lets be honest. Also while I get the free market arguments about not protecting UK farmers (although your earlier post about the asparagus farmer was riddled with defamation since there's no evidence he "exploits" anyone beyond the level of exploitation already built in to the UK minimum wage and workers rights), we do also have to consider food security. If we become completely reliant on say the US and Africa for our food, and they know it, what do you think happens to prices? The free market works (When it does work) because of wide ranging and open competition, reducing the level of local competition isn't likely to end well for consumers.

Brexit was never about British farmers mate. It was about African farmers, remember. We love African farmers now and all their produce. I can’t wait to tuck into some post-Brexit trade deal African asparagus.

I've had good jobs and bad jobs as an employee. I think routine and structure is pretty good for me from a health perspective (if I was given complete freedom i think i'd end up a mess of procrastination, obesity and alcohol addiction before long), and the security of a regular pay cheque is nice. I can't stand being micro-managed or closely watched and find the modern office environment with rows of tightly packed open plan desks quite harsh from a mental health perspective, but generally the more skilled and higher up I get, the more freedom and power I have to be where I want and do what I want, and that makes things much better.

With a turnout of about 30% the local election results mean nothing. Let's be honest basically nobody under 30 would have voted in them and the majority if voters would have been pensioners with nothing better to do with their day. You're clutching at straws. The fact remains that at the last proper election we had, just a year ago, May struggled against Corbyn and had to bribe to DUP to keep her job. Noise aside, nothing fundamental has changed since then.

A temporary lull in that respect is perhaps the best we can hope for considering the US and others basically wiped everything including huge numbers of totally innocent people off the map in IS controlled areas, which surely provides another generation with all the propaganda they need to perpetuate the problems over there. The threat to the UK will however remain minimal, as has always been the case. I'm just as concerned by increasing far/alt-right incel terrorism as I am by Islamic terrorism given recent events.

Love the way we've gone from dismissing polls as meaningless to celebrating them like an actual election win. What next - listening to experts again?

Depends what the community work is, I'd do an hours litter picking if it meant avoiding a £60 fine, but I probably wouldn't do two hours. I'd feel like I was living in some sort of totalitarian dystopia while doing it, and would probably do a fairly poor job on purpose as an act of rebellion.
