Has our greatest success been tainted?
Gamble92 replied to foxfanazer's topic in Leicester City Forum
Impressive yes. But the comparison between us and them after their inevitable fall will be that we have something to show for it. I don't like to bring that up because King Power have used those successes as a way to gaslight us into accepting what has come after. We put way too much attention on the owners when we won anything and the same people that were happy to do so want to put no attention on them now. If still pisses me off they were on the pitch with the trophy. -

Also, without excusing the owner or that useless ***** Rudkin, at least we have something to debate being tainted. There's fans of 90% of clubs in England who will never have that. We hear a lot about Brighton. They'll likely never have anything to show for this period of "successful recruitment". -

If we'd have gone down in that season after then it would have always been mentioned alongside what happened. The Ranieri sacking was likely always going to be mentioned alongside it but that, and Vichai's perception amongst the rest of football, was kind of rewritten after the crash. People have almost forgotten how much our owners and club were despised after that sacking. I think that what's happened years later doesn't really impact on anything. We should have had many more years competing for Europe as a ripple effect of being in the top clubs. I think of us who never blindly attributed everything to our owners when things went well accepted these days were going to come along soon enough. -
The way everything was even under Vichai wasn't sustainable. They were same with him but when you're winning people don't scrutinise this stuff. It's one of them subjects that's hard to approach because of the way he died but I really have a hard time believing he'd have stopped the decline. There were so many occasions we were run just as bad when he was alive, but again the victor rewrites the history books.

Wow. Clueless is an understatement.

AI one have to have one hell of a bang on the head to write that badly. -
Strange post

Yeah I realise we should never really say anything negative about him because of all he gave us but he was a shit captain. Which I think even he knew really. Was multiple times he didn't want the captaincy. Can't really see how a good captain would have saved too much because the characters they are won't change. I think a better culture at our club would have meant players like Winks and Faes were gone a long time ago though.

The unblemished, revered and mythological legacy of Richie Wellens -
Bit off topic but watching the Sharon Goodmay and Jeremy Vine being called the c word are some of the finest pieces of material you will consume today if you get a chance.

I think this too but I still can't stomach losing to them ever for any reason

If they let him have the Derby game I'm getting a fishing license and sitting near a pond. It's incredible I've not had a Connery.

Would you want us to be relegated to L1?

It doesn't have to be this way at all. It's a more than retrievable situation. Keep the faith -
Just found out I've fathered a child in 2017 and I'm still more bothered about the pending points deduction

Locked and loaded ready for deployment sir -
I've not seen any evidence a slow, methodical build up has ever been better. The Cruyff philosophy is killing me.

What boils my piss is the wet lettuces that say Ruud bringing youth on for 2 minutes in dead rubbers was him giving them their big break. I've had bigger breaks in that ****ing practice area in the ****ing Mattioli Arena

Having Top dictate the style of play for our club is like having Blue Van Man put on the A la carte menu at the Dorchester

At 60 minutes we had 0.05 xg and 65% possession It's the equivalent of a drunk man trying to get in his house with the wrong key for half an hour
