Ipswich 1-1 LCFC - Post Match Thread
Paninistickers replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Fab game. Really enjoyed it. Fair result. We weren't at our best but to me, we look a really decent PL team that can force weaker teams to panic. We've actually got some leaders on the grass. Winks, Vesty and Faes were delicious in that last 10 and then let the forward players do their stuff. Green flags galore -
Ipswich away 2nd November Match Thread

Do us a favour. It's a fascinating game. We look the more fluid in patches, they are bang up for it but lack finesse -
We are getting there with the bench. Just gotta see off Ward and Cooper will be more or less at the same level of knowledge as your average armchair pundit.

Player revolt

Unpopular opinion thread; I don't think our defence is quite as bad as we all make out on here. I think most of the PL, lower half for sure, concede a lot of chances. The atsenal xG was down to us actually being in the game to the 94th minute. Palace and Bournemouth was directly down to Cooper surrendering the territory and hoping for luck. Spurs was an outlier for half a game as it was first game. Forest tbf we just fell apart.

Aside from the doom mongering, a win today and wolves failing to win makes our survival chances huge. Overcoming 8 points or so is obvs doable but pulling away? that's a stretch. Right results today could see us more or less only ever one win at worst from safety all season
-
I actually remember curling up foetel position at the bottom of the stairs as the radio reported the fourth goal - 88 mins of course - and covering my ears!!! Don't think ever I've had such pain at a result prior, only for it to be repeated a couple of months later away at Middlesbrough (albeit we drew that, but didn't feel like a point won!) ....
-
And he does have that in his locker. Bournemouth and Southampton for us and countless games where forest were outplayed continually and that Nigerian lump up front would miskick one in.
-
Let's not overegg Ipswich. We play strikers leagues above Hurst and szmodics and Delap every week. If Delap was leading the line for Man City, we'd be delighted. Man for man, these are the second poorest team in the division. Yup, worse than us. I wouldn't for example swap Morsey for Faes in a million years. I think we are just scarred over the years of us gifting three points to those who desperately need them. It's always been the case. I'll never get over us throwing the 3-0 lead to a winless and woeful and absolutely clueless wolves in 2003 at this time of year.

Another sentencing anomaly..Just watched the story on that lad who stalked then murdered the 15 year old Holly in Hexham. 17 years minimum. Do me a favour. Even with it extended to 25 years via failed paroles, he'd be 42/43 when he's out. Such a depraved, pointless crime warrants a release only when he's an elderly man Edit; it's half of Pitchfork's sentence. And even Pitchfork's near 40 years is generally seen as generous

Wouldn't it be amazing if we actually won tomorrow? I mean, there is a 33% chance of that outcome right? And, 98th minutes deflected goals aside,.they aren't very good. Surely that helps a bit.

Ward has a strangely amateur manoeuvre where he kinda rocks backwards on his heels and slaps his arms against his hips as if to say 'aww, fck, you got me hook line and sinker' It's the kinda thing that half of us on here would do if we trained with the U/23s. Everything simply too quick, too fast, always a step ahead.. The fella - and in his interviews he does seem a nice, unassuming fella btw - simply isn't a professional standard keeper. His body Language gives it away.

Ok, let's assume you are right. Why play him? No amount of scouting can erode his dreadful performances so far this season. Dreadful isn't fair. His performances have been non existent. I've never seen a professional footballer at the top two levels offer so little. -

It's not one performance. He's been woeful, worse than woeful, in every single appearance. Either from the start or off the bench. -

Dunno how you can be quite so sure. The only similar signings I can recall are Ryan Bennett, an emergency loan Coady - signed for the championship and essentially to captain us back up Vestergaard - emergency panic signing to cover Fofana Even last summer, the scouting was still fairly solid. Mads (possible identified by Man City and Enzo brought that knowledge), Stephy, Fatawu, Yunis and Tom Cannon. A very decent window. Also we had Soule on the radar and that other Italian lad this summer. Buonnotte, Okoli both wreak of the scouts. Ayew, Eduardo and BdcR go against the grain. Cooper surely had his influence -
The only chance we have of him being dismissed is a player revolt. We've all visibly seen Faes going ape at him. Mavididi giving him the brush off. And it's pretty clear Vestergaard and Winks have had words.
-
How any manager can rate him.above Iversen. If we went round the championship and league one right now, offering each club a free GK, wages paid, who would they choose? Ward? Or Iversen?
-
It's stark. As critical as we all are if him, you can see there's a player in there. The physique. The body shift. He's a nervous lad I think. But he's a footballer. There were others on the pitch tonight who aren't professional level, let alone top-level.

Said similar about Ward a few seasons ago. Accept the mistake. Pay up the contract in full. Wish the player well. In every sense of the word, this lad is worse than useless -
They won't. Whelan is only interested in not selling tickets to fans. That's the main priority.
-
We should compare and contrast our second xi against last season's. Our second string v Brum in the cup last year had Stolarcyk,. Praet, Hamza, Vards, Cannon, Doyle, Coady, Albrighton, Nelson, Cover, Yunis There's been a wholesale collapse of the squad. Luke Thomas and Soumare and Ward - all of whom not good enough for second string championship side - are now second string PL players. Our bench,.our second string, packed with cooper players - Ward, BdcR, Ayew, Eduardo - is grotesque. Truly grotesque

He's my favourite player in a way as I KNEW he'd be like this. He isn't even able to be rayed as bad. He's non existent. He's just air. We are basically paying thin air 50k.a week for three years. -

We are gonna play Danny Ward, Luke Thomas BdcR and Édouardo. I would suggest all four would fall into the lowest of low percentiles of PL ability. -
Famously Rodgers hung him out to dry as he had to cope with Mahrez and De Bruyne on his own, as obvs Barnes doesn't help out defending. Then a couple of games later he had Salah and TAA to deal with on his own. Guess who the crowd blamed and barracked? Rodgers? Or Chilly?.... yup, you got it.
