We should compare and contrast our second xi against last season's. Our second string v Brum in the cup last year had Stolarcyk,. Praet, Hamza, Vards, Cannon, Doyle, Coady, Albrighton, Nelson, Cover, Yunis There's been a wholesale collapse of the squad. Luke Thomas and Soumare and Ward - all of whom not good enough for second string championship side - are now second string PL players. Our bench,.our second string, packed with cooper players - Ward, BdcR, Ayew, Eduardo - is grotesque. Truly grotesque

He's my favourite player in a way as I KNEW he'd be like this. He isn't even able to be rayed as bad. He's non existent. He's just air. We are basically paying thin air 50k.a week for three years.

We are gonna play Danny Ward, Luke Thomas BdcR and Édouardo. I would suggest all four would fall into the lowest of low percentiles of PL ability.

Famously Rodgers hung him out to dry as he had to cope with Mahrez and De Bruyne on his own, as obvs Barnes doesn't help out defending. Then a couple of games later he had Salah and TAA to deal with on his own. Guess who the crowd blamed and barracked? Rodgers? Or Chilly?.... yup, you got it.

The bench is absolutely woeful. I doubt the crossing was instructed,.just a lack of ideas. Compare and contrast with Winks and Abdul coming on v Saints. Both impacted the game hugely. The (lack of) bench ATM is really harming us. I think if we had Vards, Bilal, Abdul and, injuries to VK aside, Ricky (who can be used in a variety of positions) and again (injury permitting) Vesty.....it gives us real options to positively impact a game. Ayew can come on and bleed a game out. McAteer can give us legs. Ward, Coady, Soumare, BdcR, Luke Thomas will simply not be able to affect games (well not in our favour anyway)

I'd accommodate Skipp by either dropping Abdul, and using him as the game changing trump card...or - I've gone on and on about this - dropping Vards and either playing Buonnotte as a false nine or Stephy up top

I was/am one of those who feels that keep it tight, stay in game approach isn't always bad. Skipp, winks, Wilf keeps any team honest and we can switch it up with Abdul later on in games

In the old days, you just settle in for a routine defeat. 1980s, I remember the David Pleat era, we'd concede on 20 mins and 60 mins and apply absolutely zero momentum swing, late pressure or force the opposition to hang on. Nowadays, no PL team can dominate or control for 90 mins. It's impossible
