Two seasons ago they were the best owners ever, some fans crowed about how our owners were second to none, and they were the only club to vote against the pay-per-view cash crab during covid. Susan Whelan won CEO of the Year in 2021 and we'd just won the FA Cup and it was onwards and upwards. The media talked about our ownership model and how other clubs should follow suit. Now it goes wrong, we have s**t owners and the club need to be sold to some middle eastern country. It is obvious Kingpower's minds have been elsewhere with their duty-free business due to the Covid fallout. A good vibrant King power, in the long run, is good for Leicester, they have wiped out the debt, and they were going to do the stadium rebuild, which for obvious reasons is now on the back burner. If Top et al can learn from this season, and realise that you can't take your eye off the ball with a Premier League club, then maybe the club will come back wiser and not rest on its laurels.

Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
Le Renard replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I would like to see Pearson back in a Director of Football role, we need someone who can reset the culture at the club, he needs full control over all football operations. As for the coach/manager I haven't got a clue who would come to Leicester. -
Will you still watch the Premier League if we go down?
Le Renard replied to BenTheFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I will continue to watch it because I get all the Premier matches(no 3 pm embargo) along with the Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga, a couple of Ligue Un matches, the FA Cup, a championship game, and the champions league for about 25€ a month. It is one of the benefits of living abroad, thank god I don't have to pay Sky's fees. -
You could argue it is 100% on the board, they do the hiring and firing. But I will break with mathematical logic and say it is 100% on Rodgers, 100% on the board, and 100% on the players = 300%. I know it makes 33.33 % each, but I'm so pissed off with all of them, so 300% just feels right due to how I'm feeling about the way our club has been run these last couple of years.

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
Le Renard replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
Good podcast, too many people dining out on past glories, and to think Susan Whelan won Prem League CEO in 2021. -
Don't you realise that most of our fans have sizeable moobs!
-
How could it go wrong with the winner of the "CEO of the Year at the 2021 Football Business Awards" at the helm?
-
Too many players of the same ilk, Dean Smith seems to think they are a good bunch of lads, and that is where the problem lies. Kasper wound people up and made people uncomfortable, telling people straight if they weren't pulling their weight, maybe Albrighton could be like that in his own way, maybe he isn't vocal like Kasper, but he probably voiced his opinion. Rodgers slowly got rid of these strong characters and seemed to sideline Vardy, so we all believed that he was finished. Any organisation needs dissenting voices and a mixture of characters, but we seem to have a squad created in the image of Rodgers, with a bloody leadership group. Sometimes you just need some home truths told to your face, not a bloody group of leaders to discuss it!!

Rudkin prefers to move in the shadows. Rodgers likes the stage lights shining on him.
-
Top has probably been naive, he's had the wool pulled over his eyes by "the snake oil salesman", and he won't be the first or the last to fall for it. I suspect Vichai would have eventually seen through Rodgers, but he had the experience of creating a multi-billion-dollar business. Let's just hope Top has learned from this, and he becomes a better wiser owner.

Give him a decent midfield in front of him, then we can judge if is a decent defender, until that happens, then we'll never see the true ability of Faes.

64 Goals Conceded in 35 Games, Where did it all go so wrong?
Le Renard replied to Will1981's topic in Leicester City Forum
I would say it is a porous team, It has been obvious for some time, our team doesn't press the ball, and our central midfielders(except Mendy) have been utter s**te for the past 18 months. I would hate to be a defender in our team, you just know that our midfield line will track back and press when they feel like it. This makes our defenders look like a bunch of Keystone cops, they don't have any confidence, so they make rash unintelligent decisions. I've been saying it for the last 3 seasons but we've lacked a midfield workhorse, who can get nasty at times and do the ugly stuff in games, we've recruited nice guys who get bullied. The team talk from the opposition before a game is: "Get in their faces and get tight and pressurise them, and they'll fall like a house of cards, you'll score a couple of quick goals, game over". We are in for a big shock when the championship starts next season, it will be even more physical and if we don't recruit the right type of player, then prepare for another season of "leaky defense time". -
I just don't get the deification of Söyüncü, today he was shocking and it almost showed he was on the beach with Tielemans, if you think he's the bee's knees then you are entitled to that opinion, I thought like that a few years back when he had one good season. He's not been at the club for the best part of 18 months, his head has been elsewhere, and any other player who's wanted out gets slaughtered, but for some reason, Söyüncü gets a free pass from some on here. I have no doubt he'll become a success at Atleti, but he hasn't been consistently good for some time at our club, I'd rather now have players who are committed and probably going to be with us in our new surroundings in the championship.
-
On his day he can be very good, but when he's not on it, then he's a bomb scare.
-
Some on here have been making him out to be the latest messiah, if only he'd been playing since the start of the season everything would have been fine. Well against Fulham we've seen the real Cags.
-
Everyone looks better than us at the moment!
-
Just looks like he's fed up at Leicester, I wonder if he didn't get his move a couple of seasons ago?
-
Prepare for the championship, and ditch the players who are leaving, they have already left and are on the beach, so no point in playing them.
-
It is too cringeworthy for me, but for us old-school sadists who like to be told by the boss that you are f***ing useless and you're an excuse for a human being, well that ship has sailed. You can't rant and shout abuse, or call players out anymore, it is considered bullying. I'm not making light of mental health, but some players today would have a breakdown if they got the hair dryer treatment.
-
If we do stay up, it will be by a better GD, it will be squeaky bum time on the last day of the season. I'm going to do anything but listen or watch the match, my ticker can't take it, although my wife will probably lock me in the garage because she knows I'll be impossible to live with on the day.
-
Our goal difference might just save us. Let's hope it will count for something at the end of the season.
-
I have been critical of Söyüncü for downing tools, and now we see a different kind of player that I and others that were led to believe existed at the club. Perhaps it was Rodgers's mismanagement, his ego or it was because Söyüncü couldn't stand the sight of him and they just didn't like each other. This happens in any workplace, but you should always put the task ahead before your own pride. Maybe Rodgers is watching Söyüncü's performances and thinks "You f***ing bar steward, you wouldn't do that for me". I just think we'll never know why their working relationship broke down, but I do think those above should have maybe questioned, why so many other players were frozen out or were unwanted. I don't think the club can afford to back a manager to this extent again.
-
I don't think Smith had many options against Citeh with Barnes out, Tete can't be relied upon so he has to go with the width from Kristiansen & Castagne. If Söyüncü has a blinder for the next few matches, then even more questions will be asked of Rodgers.
