Soyuncu off to Fenerbache then! He couldn't cut the mustard at Atletico, with one of the most defensive-minded coaches in world football. For some on here, he could do no wrong, he was the second coming of Christ on more than one occasion, but Simione must have spotted some blatant flaws in his game.

It's probably a need-must scenario, selling a homegrown player allows the club to cook the books, and the £30 million for KDH will be shown a pure profit. Meanwhile, if Enzo wants a couple of players in, then the costs will be spread over their contracts. If clubs were made to live financially like the rest of us, then a lot of them would go to the wall.

There's a list as long as your arm of footballers being caught drunk driving. You'd of thought the amount of money they earn they could afford to employ a chauffeur full-time.
-
I don't get why some of our homegrown players like Hamza get so much criticism, KDH got it last year, Chilwell every year he was at the club, and Barnes would be a world-beater one minute and a complete pile of s**t the next. Luke Thomas is already a has-been, yet Soyuncu was the dog bollocks, and could do no wrong for some on here! Hamza will never be a world-beater but whilst we're in the championship he can do a job for us.

Do we think most footballers understand anything about tax avoidance? Financial advisors or accountants told them they could save some money, and it was all probably above board, your average footballer is not going to look any deeper than that.

I'm not sure Italian clubs will pay big money, the Government has recently canceled tax breaks for foreign players. So I'd imagine Napoli will be looking to get a bargain.

Ben Nelson signs new contract until 2027

Souttar's contract is over 5 1/2 years, so the £15 million will be spread over the duration, so that is around £2.72 million a year. Now the club will be interested in the balance sheet for FFP. By the summer his value on that will be minus 1 1/2 years of his contract, so if he goes for around £11 million, then it wouldn't show as a loss. If we send him on loan next season, then the club can sell him for around £8 million, technically the club hasn't lost any money on him, but in the real world, we know that to be untrue. -
Well if Maresca can turn Yunnus into our version of Bernardo Silva, then I think he could have a good career with us!

Huddersfield (H) 4-1 - New Years Day - Post-Match Thread

Time for some tired old puns....."Cannon's having a Ball"! -
Let's see at the business end of the season, I'm too long in the tooth to get carried away at the halfway stage. We've had our fingers burnt too many times at this club. I would say though this team had a better foundation to build on, and we can still attract decent players. Pearson had to dismantle a whole squad and collect misfits from other clubs on the cheap, Enzo has had quite a bit more cash to spend.

Great win, but hang on to your hats because in the last few weeks, we've seen what the championship can do to you, it is a bloody meatgrinder. I will book an appointment with my cardiologist very soon!

I wondered when the "No plan B" would rear its ugly head as if we knew what a plan B would look like. It is our first wobble and we have only just been beaten by a single goal, and the Championship as we know is an unforgiving league.
-
Enzo's calmed him down a bit, and he's trying not to do everything. I know it is the Championship but at this moment in time, he's starting to become more consistent and fulfilling the potential we knew he had.
-
The quality was already there, he just needed to sweep the foul stench away from the last regime.
-
Yep, you could say that perhaps I should have used" I hoped" instead of " I believed".
-
A few on here have already made their minds up about Hamza and think he's the worst thing since sliced bread(I live in France and sliced bread is sh*t). I still think and always believed there is a half-decent footballer in there, he just needs to get his head down work hard, and have that little bit of luck, then he can kick on and have a decent career at the club.
-
I never knew Ndidi was technically this good and we can see a manager actually improving a player. Not the fraud, who told us that he liked improving players but then failed to do so on many occasions.
-
For someone who headed the ball a lot during his playing career, he breaks the mold of most English Managers, he always comes across as articulate and quite intelligent......unless of course, the red mist descends on him, then we know what happens!
-
Perhaps we just have seen why Mavididi hasn't really made the step up to the Prem!
-
TBH you wouldn't be able to spot him in the crowd nowadays, he'd fit right in with all those bald XXXL middle-aged men that seem to be the majority at football matches these days!

Viktor Kristiansen joins Bologna on loan
Le Renard replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
If a few people think you are a w*nker, then is that bullying? I don't think VK was a nerd with glasses, he'd probably quite easily fight his own corner, and Madders and Barnes would probably p*ss themselves if he had squared up to them. I think it probably has more to do with the culture of the club, which is why he wanted out. I for one would lay the blame on Rodgers, it was his job to sort these problems out and create squad harmony, but we know he was more interested in himself and what payoff he could get. -
I'm not surprised by the defeat, it was coming, I don't think we've set the world alight, and some of our wins had been fortuitous. This league is very unforgiving, we've done better so far than most of us thought, but the championship will drag you down and suck you in.
