  1. ICE have killed another protester in Minneapolis
  2. Hmmmm… Still calling BS on that, the graphic they eventually came up with looked nothing like the reality. They had his foot in the air pointed straight down when it was clearly not, completely different angle.
  3. Am I the only one that still thinks that Liverpool goal looked offside?
  4. Somewhat surprised the ref wasn't sent to the screen to check for a subjective offside there. I think I agree with Neville that he didn't have an impact, but he looked to be in an offside position and in the general path of the shot. Old Trafford decision I guess.
  5. This explains really well how utterly bonkers our current model is.
  6. I’ve seen this claimed in random tweets but haven’t seen any credible reporting about it. Do you have any sources you can share?
  7. One of the worst in a long time, and that takes some doing. Don’t think he affected the result, but he really affected the game. Shockingly bad.
  8. I've always assumed it was a general mistrust in science that's grown over the years, as well as fossil fuels being a quicker buck than renewables. I suspect @leicsmac will be able to give a much more detailed answer!
  9. The thought of him being in control of anything more dangerous than a butter knife is scary, but a nuclear arsenal... I know in politics it's very hard to criticise your own side, but it blows my mind that anybody can defend this (notwithstanding @Muzzy_no7's fair point about him being correct to highlight people buying Russian energy, a stopped clock and all that...). I listened to an interview with him from before his first term a few weeks ago, it's astonishing and frightening how much he's changed. I didn't like what he was saying before, but at least it was pretty coherent and kind of funny in his delivery. Now it's completely detached from reality and he's completely absorbed by his own ego.
  10. Enzo's making the mistake we have when playing them in recent seasons, showing to much respect and thinking he's playing a team from decades gone by.
  11. Weird to bring Palmer off?
  12. Those special Old Trafford VAR lines to the rescue
  13. I genuinely don't mean this in an antagonistic way, I'm honestly curious. Are you saying this as a criticism? I know you're not a fan of Starmer, largely understandably, but what else is he meant to do? It seems to be in the best/only way to keep Trump on side and as awkward and cringeworthy as it is, surely it's in our country's best interest to be in his good books. Politics is weird, even if it's not your "side" in charge you still tend to want them to do well for the greater good. I wasn't a fan of the Tories, but as someone in the country I wanted them to do well for the sake of us all. Presumably while not being a Starmer fan you would still want him to do well even if the way he goes about it isn't the way you would like? And as much as it's horrible to watch, joining that queue behind Trump and puckering up is surely what he has to do... Like I say, genuinely interested and there's no dig intended. You seem a good example of someone who can have a reasonable debate with people you don't necessarily align with politically.
  14. Danny Kruger defects from the Conservatives to Reform
  15. This is an embarrassing refereeing performance, giving anything he can Liverpool’s way. Booking the Liverpool player for the blatant dive seems to have given him the justification to wear green.
  16. How sad, how can a human do that to another however different your views are. Scary and concerning that the shooter hasn't been arrested yet, the man originally arrested was quickly released it seems.
  17. I was always puzzled by the hype there was around hydrogen. For the reasons you state it seems very unlikely that the challenges of handling and storing it can be overcome economically, let alone the intrinsic inefficiencies of isolating it in the first place. The poor volumetric energy density would also be an issue, and it's not really like batteries where you can make them any shape you want to fit in the car. It always seemed like a non-starter, and I never really heard any convincing argument for its adoption. I'm no chemist but if it were to ever take off I'd image it'd have to be stored as a compound with something else and then liberated with a catalyst of some sort. That then comes with the issue of what to do with the waste of whatever it was stored with, and how to refuel. I remember you being in some sort of scientific field @Zear0 but can't remember what, does any of the idea above make any sense to you?
  18. This probably belongs somewhere between here and the general news thread. This is a hilariously combative interview done by Emily Maitlis and Nick Clegg. IMO she's quite disingenuous in her interpretation of a lot of what he says, and he's extremely defensive and touchy about being questioned. That said, it's very interesting hearing the views of someone who has been at the heart of social media and has been critical of it.
  19. Newcastle aren’t going to finish this with 10 on the pitch are they?
  20. He’s ran in from miles away as well, clearly had every intention of doing him.
  21. Going to be a challenge for the medium to go the whole distance
  22. US justice department asks to meet Epstein conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell How long until "Maxwell Didn't Kill Herself" is a thing then?
  23. Fair enough, I did a quick Google and that was what it said. It seems you can join and train at 16, but as you say you wouldn’t see combat until 18. My bad, thank you for the correction. I’ll stand by the rest of my points, and will instead say that if we allow people to sign up for the army at 16 it probably is fair to give them a say.
  24. A counter example would be that you can fight, and die, for the country at 16 by joining the army. I've not got a strong opinion either way, but would probably lean in favour. There are some 16 year olds I wouldn’t trust to run a bath, but in truth I know a lot of adults I’d say similar of. I also know plenty who at 16 were very engaged in politics and the news. Nobody will be dragging 16 year olds to the polls, if they want to vote that’s up to them.
  25. They’ve released Slide Away from Friday night in Cardiff as a single and it sounds just as epic as it did at the time. It was an incredible gig, such a privilege to have been there on the opening night. As an aside, I hope Noel’s doing ok. I thought he looked very emotional all night, the embrace with Liam at the end looked warm and genuine and like he really needed it.
