Realistic Managerial Replacements
FoxesWalk replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
Bring Felix Magath out of retirement to really wake our players up: As a manager, Magath quickly gained respect and became known for his hard, grinding training methods, laying heavy emphasis on discipline, fitness and conditioning. Players gave him nicknames like "Saddam" (Saddam Hussein) or "Quälix", a portmanteau of his first name Felix and the German verb "quälen" (to torture). His methods have also been considered to be controversial in the media, however. He was once described by former Eintracht Frankfurt player Bachirou Salou as the "last dictator in Europe". -
Realistic Managerial Replacements

It would at least unite the fans behind him and the players I’d bet, don’t see it being any worse than now tbh He has so much credit in the bank for me, doesn’t matter what happens the rest of this season if he did come in, still a legend -
1000% yes

Probability of Bankruptcy if Relegated

Imagine trying to pay for it in League One… -
As if I needed more motivation to turn off the game

Looks like Sheff united were in the relegation zone before this? Bodes well.

The Sunderland route seems somewhat optimistic from where I’m sitting? Our wage spending is far higher than theirs was when they went down, how does the cost of running seagrave alone compare to the budget of a typical L1 side? Coupled with the fact we have various loans taken out from Macquire (the same sharks that played a large part in destroying Thames water) hedged against future income… -

My understanding was that there were less spending restrictions in League One, hence what Birmingham city did when they went down. Could be wrong. -

Agreed, I obviously don’t want to see that happen, but they have to go. -
In all seriousness, does anyone with the appropriate background know enough about football finances to advise how likely we are to be in serious financial difficulty if relegated this season? How do we compare to other “larger” clubs who have gone down to that level in the past? Given our current level of spend I’m guessing we are more likely than most, if not all, that came before us to be in danger. The rumoured points deduction would put us in 22nd place at present, I wouldn’t bet against us going down at the moment. Got me thinking that it’s genuinely possible that we could face a winding up order within a few years.

Imagine how well we’d be doing if we had kept Ward and Coady

Is that a threat?

Bagsman Daka to score again

I’m turning this off now 🤣

Vestergaard is pressing higher than when he was hopelessly exposed under Rogers. Ridiculous.
-
Yeah okay Fatawu just collapses having now seen the replay 🤣but first one was not a foul the free kick and multiple Southampton players including the scorer were offside
-
Ridiculous officiating for both goals

I see Bazunu has decided to remember how to play football just for us

Early booking for Aluko is not ideal for such a young lad

Just turn your tap on bud

Actually like the lineup for once

Is there team news for this game? Would nice if mods could pin the post for the pre game match quotes if they exist in the match thread for future games?

Read that Harvey Barnes might turn out for Scotland, he’d be great for them tbh, kinda hope he does it. He’s eligible and isn’t getting the England call.

Those two are the least of their problems imo. They’ve shipped out so many attackers they have almost no depth in attacking positions now. Cunha, Mbuemo and Sesko aside the others for those forward 3 spots aren’t good enough, and I’m honestly not convinced by Sesko (generally) or Cunha (in that system). It really showed today, no quality on the end of anything and no options on the bench to help. United without Casemiro are statistically far worse in both attack and defence, he is key to covering massive spaces in that system Amorim plays. Bruno is their best player comfortably, but he is intensely unlikable, I completely get why people don’t like him. Having such a punchable face doesn’t help him. Easily the most creative central midfielder (not inc. wide men) in the prem though, now KDB is gone. Getting on a bit now though, they probably do need to move on from him soon.

KDH spoke very well after the game as well, delighted for the lad, has made a great impact at Everton so far
