  1. Glasgow away in the next round is a 50/50 game, but unfortunately for both the quarter final is more than likely Leinster in Dublin.
  2. Looked absolutely baltic in Dingwall today. Doff my cap to the 2 or 3 players with short sleeve shirts only.
  3. The keeper is having one of those seasons where everything is straight at him.
  4. Went there for the first time tonight. Nice little place, had 2 Salvation. Lovely.
  5. From personal experience, it will get better. I had to move back home for a year to rebuild after a break up. This time of the year is terrible if you are feeling down, but the days are getting longer bit by bit. Long walks with headphones in listening to music / podcasts helped me, fresh air in the lungs.
  6. Parkhead in the 80's and 90's following Aberdeen was the best away game. It helped that we got plenty of wins. Covered terracing, pay at the gate. The stadium would be circa 80% full and the official attendance was 30k. The Celtic board were at it. Very little policing, as soon as you came out of the away end it was every man for themselves. You could tell who was who, Celtic fans in double denim and a green and white scarf, Aberdeen fans all dressed up and no colours 😄. The walk to Queen St was interesting. Ibrox was get off the bus in the away end car park, take your seat, get back on the bus and go home. Much more intimidating. Mixing outside the Broomloan after the game was running the gauntlet. To be fair, that was every game across the UK in the 80's.
  7. 7/1 on PP. Probably less now
  8. Once the fans get going, best atmosphere In Scotland, and trust me it pains me to say that as well.
  9. Odds on a whitewash?
  10. That's a great clip. Really good find. 👍 That was a terrible Rangers side, they finished 5th. Jock Wallace started the season and Souness started the next. Back in those days Ibrox was possibly the best stadium in the UK, their chairman David Holmes did really well off the park and set them up for the Souness era. Parkhead took years to catch up, and even now I think it takes 2nd place to Ibrox.
  11. Part of the problem is English clubs hoovering up the young promising players from the academies due to Brexit. The EPL and championship are littered with them. Most of them don't make it due to losing out on playing 1st team football in their formative years. Dundee or Edinburgh derbies are more kick and run than silky passing movements 😁. Still, full house, great atmosphere and a last minute winner. I'd imagine the Utd fans don't give a stuff about the quality. In a perverse way, the lack of quality replaced with attitude and aggression is part of the reason for the atmosphere in the stands. It's pointless comparing English and Scottish football, they are completely different business models. Both leagues can be appreciated for what they are.
  12. It's the 1st time in ages "No pope of Rome" has had an outing. It was a real toe tapper in the 80's......😁 It's always funny one of the old firm getting a hosing. I'd imagine Taylor, Scales and McCowan are getting rinsed on Kerrydale Street. The bits I saw, Bernardo, Hatate and Kyogo were just as bad if not worse. Not sure Tavenier gets a start for a while.
  13. Ran out of steam. 2 of our new players came from Scandinavia and have been playing non stop a season and a half. Gaye got injured 6 weeks ago and no striker has stepped forward. 2 young lads at the heart of the defence have been found out, basically get it in the mixer and we can't defend it. Apart from that, its going great.....😆 Roll on the transfer window and winter break.
  14. Watched Blitz last night on Apple. Rubbish. I can't believe some of the good reviews online. Strange cameos from Stephen Graham and Kathy Burke that looked to be shoehorned into the film for a 10 min filler.
  15. I'd add Shrinking, Trying, Black bird, Bad Monkey, The Morning Show as well. Bad Sisters gets better.
  16. I moved south in 2007 and rotated between Derby, Forest and Leicester depending who they were playing at home. Lots of Championship football. The difference in age demographic was noticeable then, and to be honest I was envious that the English clubs seemed to hold onto fans past 40 years old. At that time Scotish clubs attendances were dwindling and they still struggle to attract the older generation, bar the old firm. Ironically, Rangers going bust helped (not Celtic), and post covid it's become fashionable for Ultras groups to out do each other. Much like the casual culture in the 80's. I gave up on attending Derby Forest Leicester about 5 years ago due to pricing. I am considering QPR at £15 in a few weeks. The english clubs have backed themselves into a corner due to players wages, so have to keep prices high and can't afford to offer decent consessions to youngsters.
  17. I was switching between this and Arsenal game. The quality is chalk and cheese but entertainment wise there's only 1 winner. The 9k is a brilliant attendance, aided by how well Falkirk are doing. Quite a bit of teeth gnashing in the media about the pyro interrupting the restarts, and ripping seats out isn't clever. One think I'm noticing up North is the apparent acceptance of throwing items onto the pitch towards the players. Again, not clever, I'm just hoping the young teams don't abuse the current "amnesty" the authorities seem to be showing.
  18. Deserved win for Hibs, 6 points from Pittodrie Tynecastle. Also great to see a full away end rather than the 750 seats Hearts give the rest of Scotish football. What a state Hearts are in. 😁
  19. Going to save these until I head back to Leics. Fierce Beer have created a lager and stout for the club and apparently taste really good. Cans in the colours of the kit.
  20. Home for Christmas, back to my local of 30 years ago. Tennants lager all round.
  21. Funnily enough I didn't hear the outrage about the non penalty or non Var review in the top clip last season from the blue side of Glasgow. Last minute of the cup final and Butland takes Duk out when it was 1 nil Rangers. I guess things even themselves out over a season etc....
  22. Highlights on BBC iplayer. Sunday Sportscene.
