Niche, slight retro feel…absolutely love this, well played

Can’t help but feel we will be hunting through the bargain bin at the end of this month. Not because we haven’t announced anything yet, but solely because the entire club seems to have shut down for the summer. Can see it being a Gary o’Neil, Tony Mowbray, Steven Gerrard or Michael Carrick

Looking at Man City’s pretty bloated squad and I think Divin Mubuma could be a great option for a backup centre forward for us.

Bournemouth or West Ham for me, could see Potter being interested.

Development/Youth Squads 2025/2026 Thread - U18/U21

As much as we should see a fair few make first team appearances next year, our U23 side should have a really strong season. Talent is definitely there -
Tyrique George from Chelsea and either Toby Collyer or Sekou Kone from Man Utd would be near top of my list.
-
I don’t think he’d go for it, but Christ he’d be perfect…think he’d fit us like a glove and get time to develop our youngsters. it would be chaos but utterly beautiful.
-
I’d be amazed if he dropped that far down, but would be a hell of an appointment for QPR
-
I’ll be amazed if a league one side can get £10m for a player with one year left on his contract.

If I can slightly play Carricks promo guy here (and I’m not, think he’s a huge work in progress) . 1) no plan B against sides that sit in is probably the most common complaint from any fan who’s team play possession based football. A coach can’t all of a sudden turn round at 60 minutes and 0-0 say “let’s shove it up to a big guy”. Yes there should be invention and variation but it’s a common and often lazy argument 2 & 3) these actually just point to poor finishing and a frustration that whilst the football is good, they don’t see the rewards in goals. Again, this can be down to player quality. I’m not saying Carrick doesn’t have faults, but if we are going with another “possession based” coach, he’s not as stubborn as Martin and probably has a good amount of development as a coach ahead of him. I’d personally still rather see us go for Rohl, and someone a bit more front foot, high press, high intensity.

Pretty confident we could get both Agyemang and Richard Kone for about £12m, and with the profiles they have, any success for either of those sees them go for £25m+
-
Some glaring issues with Carricks coaching, but I can see him being super attractive to our board. There’s worse names out there, but he wouldn’t be in my top 5
-
Reputation within the game I suppose, no doubt helped by his surname but all reports are he’s a seriously impressive coach. Would be a very enzo-like appointment, but from bits of interviews he’s a little more pragmatic in his approach
-
Yeah I think he has limitations but £2m for a pretty well rounded squad midfielder is a no-brainer
-
Does this mean we can get Ancelloti now?
-
If he goes anywhere i can only see it being West Ham, Wolves or Bournemouth. Otherwise I think he stays
-
****ing hell.....sorry Sean

Michael Keane and Ben Mee at CB. Ayew and Kieffer Moore up front. Football heritage

I was talking to my brother when it looked confirmed to be Russell Martin and then realised that two years ago we had exactly the same conversation about it looking like it was Scott Parker (but without a real major media source confirming). It will be mid-late this month that we appoint someone and it's still anyone's guess
-
Agree with this, feel like the centre mid needs to be more of a "10" too. Would love someone like Toni Fruk or Lennon Miller but feel they are going far higher than us this summer. Luciano Valente is annoyingly heading to Feyenoord, love his profile. Jamie Donley from Spurs would be a really smart loan pickup. I'm at big fan of Agyemang, but feel it's him or Kone, not both. Too similar. I like Kasper Hogh at Bodo Glimt or Yousef Salach from Cardiff as more of a target man option (especially if we appoint Rohl). I've also just started looking at Aune Heggebo from Brann, who looks a good prospect at 23. Really good finisher from either foot, a bit of a poacher.
-
I like him, certainly looks like he could offer a goal threat, maybe not creative enough to make me super excited, but he's decent. Definitely could play top end of championship.
-
Sorry, Top is away on Polo duty ....please respect his priorities
-
What are they (and by they, i include the board on this), actually doing? No progression with manager for next season, aren't talking to Ruud, aren't talking to candidates. No recognition or statement regarding relegation We haven't even released next year's kit. The whole club is frozen, it makes me wonder if they are moving in the background looking to sell
-
I'm all for Rohl, think he's got multiple elements that can make him a real success here...there are risks no doubt but think he's the correct long term pick.
-
Our board probably haven't got a clue, they don't keep up to date with the game at all
