I think you’re missing the point too. Show me a child who can be bothered to try (and successfully) break 3D facial recognition software to gamble their £5 pocket money and I’ll be impressed before I’m concerned. I’m pretty done discussing it tbh, I stopped replying last night to the other guy. Don’t mean to sound rude. Just tired of it all.

We’ve been over all of this above. Proxies etc yes. But it’s still not the same as gambling. You can fake ID etc and use photoshop etc, but a lot are using front facing cameras to scan you in real time to cross check against the ID which is also checked for authenticity. Kids can do many things with computers, but you can’t give them money to bet that they don’t have in the first place. And they cannot really trick the system here. I’m pretty bored discussing all this now tbh.

Personally I like to use football as the one place to switch off and enjoy the matches. Seems like everybody has opinions about everything these days and it’s starting to get a bit exhausting.

I don’t think many have said “we fully endorse it” I sympathise with stuff like this, it’s tragic, but it’s all part of the shit storm that is life and some of us have awful times of it, whilst others are quite lucky. For example, my dad was an alcoholic, I had the worst relationship with him because of that and have some very harrowing memories. He died in his early forties due to organ failure. However I don’t expect the club to stop selling beer in the concourse because of my crappy childhood. If anything it’s just made me determined to not be THAT GUY to my kids. Gambling and sport is something that’s going to be very difficult to separate, as is drinking. We’re moving in the right direction in terms of not putting the brands on shirts from 25/26, but gambling ads will still exist and will be as prominent pre match and during ad breaks on TV as always. All they have to do is say “bet responsibly” and that’s it. I think those adverts are much more appealing than seeing a logo on a shirt. I’ve never once placed a bet because I’ve seen a static shirt transfer, but I have whacked a tenner on a game after seeing a TV ad. Unfortunately, in recent years lots of people get triggered by many things and it’s making it hard to censor everything offensive in equal measure. But at least the shirt ban is incoming… But for the record, I’d have preferred something else too.
