Its easy to forget how important JJ was for us at the start of last season. Blistering pace, highly intelligent, hard working, clever, skillful and defensively solid. Can play LB, LWB LM, RB, RWB, RM and CB all to a premier league quality level without looking massively out of place. Adds options both defensively and going forward and with this 5 at the back system there are so many areas where he could be useful. This is a massive win for us

He wasn't wanted by southampton fans when they sold him which makes me think he isn't that good and that we have been had. Do we give up on him and sell him? no. We have to give him chances to fulfill his potential. Play him in cup games etc etc. However, as a reliable first team quality defender we can't afford his continue mistakes on the pitch and unless we are in a defensive crisis he is not worth risking for the time being until he either proves us all wrong or goes.

I don't think we were all over the place. We looked open for sure but I feel that was due to the playstyle more than a lack of defensive organisation awareness. We were bad. Not all over the place. Saying heavens above does not make you right btw, everyone has their own interpretation of the game and yours is different to mine.

You are definitely exaggerating how bad we were defensively first half. We looked a little open for sure but to say we were all over the place is completely wrong. Their first goal was incredibly lucky and their second goal was a mistake by cags and some slightly poor defending. However, Apart from their goals can we really think of a top save Kasper had to make or a clear opportunity they had? no. For most of the first half we played attacking open football that left us open at the back purely by way we were playing. Second half they barely got a sniff at goal from my memory and we defended much much better (partly due to soumare being a beast) but we also looked more organised. We looked to run away with it easily but then Veste got turned betrand marked poorly and they score. Were the goals exclusively their faults. no ofc not. But its telling that we looked a lot more vulnerable when they came on and we went from ez win to needing the loo desperately.
