soyoncu put him in some good positions and he didnt do much with it. Looking dangerous and actually being dangerous are two different things. Soyoncu isolated lookman 1v1 by pushing forward and lookman took no advantage from it. Its fine. it happens. Lookman is a good player from my point of view but he wasnt at it last night. Miles better than bertrand at least

the three at teh back two at top can work if we can isolate their cb's with our strikers to go two on two. However, if they just sit back and do nothing then it can be quite limiting and if they play five ala bournmouth then we can't isolate defenders it doesnt work. Need to consider a mix of 5 and 4 at the back depending on who we are playing

Also to people saying crisis: Levein was crisis. Holloway was crisis. Taylor was crisis. Mandric was just one crisis after another. The near bankrupcy of our club was crisis. Not being able to defend corners and not being in top 6 is not a crisis

I mean, we still dont have ur best full back. We still dont have our best cb (and didnt have our other outstanding cb till 2-3 games ago). We lost our best cdm for a few weeks. We have barely had a settled back this year with all the injuries which of course is going to set us back. Which such injuries surely brendan has had to spend the time making what he has work than actually improving and sorting out the underlying problems in our team.

sorry i thought he was brought in after working with rodgers at celtic but maybe not. Also another point think about all the injuries we have had since febuary which destroyed our form. Justin, Ricardo, Evans, fofana, Ndidi, barnes, madders, perez, cags, castagne. All of them have spent significant time on the sidelines and a couple of key figures are still out. Think about that decimation of our backline and the constant chopping and changing throughout this time we have had to do. Hopefully now this rot of injuries has stopped we can regain some form

Good rodgers signings: Tielemans, Fofana Castagne Justin Daka lookman (maybe) Bad rodgers signings: Vest Perez Benko betrand Players improved under rodgers: Kels, cags, thomas, barnes, tielemens amartey players who have got worse: Madders (maybe i'm not too sure i think its just a dip in form), Mendy (always was bad), choudary (never reached potential) Mostly, rodgers has improved our squad and improved our players who were here already. Is he mr incredible who turns everything he touches to gold? no. But has he improved the squad yeah. He deserves time and support from us.

Barring the first 20 mins the performance was decent tonight. Second half we avtually played some outstanding football and looked back to our best with the 4 2 3 1. Back four looked so much more comfortable (minus thomas getting tired). I think brendan can go back to a back 4 comfortable that evans/soyoncu is back if need be. Shouldnt always use a back 5 as, like today, if it isnt the right formation we get shown up way to easily. Some positives to take away. First 20 minutes was absolutely abysmal and was worse than the palace performance
