Yunus and KDH together hasn't worked. But saying that Ndidi isn't currently working out either. Although he's not my favourite i think it's looked better when Praet has been playing because he is technically good and different to KDH. I am still not convinced that Coady and Vesty together is the answer. I would go: Madds Ricky Faes Coady Doyle Winks Praet KDH Abdul Mavi Cannon He's obviously going to stick with the inverted stuff, and i want to Doyle to link up with Fatawu again.

Singing 'straight back up Leicester City' and believing it.

A bit of fun. I've had the 'pleasure' of spending the evening with some Liverpool fans who think the world has collapsed around them, and it cheered me up no end!. Out of Europe and lost their way in the Premier League, they think they have bottled everything and this is another disaster of a season. Beautiful. But it made me think about how smug we were a short time ago. So here is the list if things i missed about our smug period of being on top of the Championship: After 10 games only letting in 6 goals, and thinking we will only let in about 20 goals all season. Our biggest problem being that we hadn't yet 'smashed a team', and that winning every week had become boring. Foxestalk posters asking 'has there ever been a season where a team has never lost a game'. Smugly watching Southampton and Leeds mess up the start of the season, and thinking they will both be lucky to finish in the playoffs. Wondering why a team as sh1t as Ipswich were 2nd in the table, and laughing that they would fall away any day soon.......... Being so confident, that i couldn't even be arsed to pay attention to HMS Pi55 the league posts, because i thought we would f*** the Championship a new asshole and break every record that ever stood. Thinking we had a manager so 'in demand', that Brighton, Liverpool or Man U would steal him at the earliest opportunity and we would have to 'make do' with Mowbray for the rest of the season. Finding out a fan behind me was going on holiday in December, and me joking that we would be 'promoted by the time they come back'. Thinking the most stressful thing i had to do was 'trust the process'. Actually enjoying our managers press conferences, before he started talking about 'musckel problems' and that the shite performances were 'goooodee'. Missing that i was proud of my team for a while, before the FFP reality and horrible form kicked in. I am sure there are loads more. How typical of Leicester City that we turn an amazing season into the nail biter it has become. Night night foxes fans.....

No - i get that as well. But i've always been saying that there was a high chance that a poor run of form was coming our way. All of them have had it. Ipswich has a turgid spell themselves where i thought they were out of it. Personally, I wasn't expecting to lose 5 games so close together and for Ipswich and Leeds to nail it over the same period. But also, i then didn't expect them to falter as soon as they caught us as well. Pressure for the top 3 is playing a big part of it, and i expect it to get worse for one of the 3 over the next 3/4 games.

I can understand why Daka had been given chances. The stats were there (but fading away). There had to be faith the form would come back. But i think Daka's body language when subbed off said it all. I think he knows that the faith is running (or run) out. With Ndidi - he doesn't have the football brain to do it. He was dead as a defensive midfielder anyway and had goes at CD which were awful. He is a penalty disaster waiting to happen. The high 8 worked as he was able to win the ball up the pitch. I think the problem now is that he's in the exit lounge and isn't capable of putting the effort in and the idea of using him for the inverted role makes me feel sick. Something was smelling with him about that move to Forest which coincided with his increase in form. Problem for us is that our choices are limited here - Ndidi and Preat are on the way out, some suggest Nacho but we have the same problem (cant wait to get out), Akgun very likely won't get signed so whats the incentive to perform. We've looked good playing Riccy in that role but the problem is it means playing Hamza inverted and Riccy gets injured. At least Casadei had a reason to perform (to a degree).
-
Win against WBA, and i can't see us slipping from here.
-
hahaha! Mate, if i need cheering up there is nothing like going to the Forest or Everton forums. Those places are nuts compared to here.
-
My favourite phrase is ' I can't see Ipswich/Leeds/Southampton' slipping up from here '. Was written about Leeds just before they lost 2 on the bounce and ended up with a worse 5 game record than us.

When you set crazy expectations, you are always going to be dissapointed. How can a squad full of relegation bottlers all of a sudden smash records. The squad is still full of underperforming players who don't want to be here. And we know what a bitch the Championship can be. I've never looked at our squad and thought this lot were going to smash records - at the start of the season i thought playoffs was the realistic target. There should have been one expectation this year - promotion. The expectation is still under threat but still achievable.
-
In fairness, up until 10/11 games ago the project was absolutely nailing that (promotion). There is nothing to suggest that if we had done anything differently we would be in a better position than we were then, and find ourselves in now. It is still feasible that the way it was managed was the best way of getting promoted. Things have gone to poo now, but get good results in the next 2 games and it will put a very different perspective on things. Then we know if the club are willing to double down further on the project, or wether they have got itchy feet. Not going to 2nd guess Rudkin, and from what i've read it sound like this was very much a Top appointment. But, in hindsight, wingbacks hardly served us well in the last 2 PL seasons, especially the last season. Its likely why a rebuild was seen as a good alternative, and it was a rebuilt many players seemed to have bought into minus a few.
-
But he was given a project. The focus was on a rebuilt to fulfill a certain goal. Nelson is part of the project via the academy, but at the start of the season couldn't be banked on. The issue with Coady is because Jannick performed in a way noone was expecting.

The world has shrunk and continues to shrink. Cultures from all different things start to converge. Might as why just blame popular culture and the how the internet and social media make everything immediately accessible. I draw the line on whether what is coming in negatively impacts the sport or the opportunities that people could benefit from sport. I think Cole Palmer is a brilliant player and i love watching him play, but even my son thinks he looks like an idiot doing that celebration. It doesn't matter if its origin is american, scottish or from out of space - it makes him look like a knob. But, it's not causing an issue to the sport and its not hurting anyone. Same as the fan cam really. Funny that my 12 year old son hates it and cringes at each clip, but we sit there an ignore it. The americanisation that concerns me comes from the club ownership an the influence this has on the direction the sport takes, rules and how things are funded. This threatens everything from grass roots up to the non big 6.

Lets not make things up. They played pure possession ball on monday. Preston were wank.
-
Didn’t see it. Did Madrid low block them?
-
Its alright mate - Ric barely goes to games anyway so won't have much idea if its cabbage soup or Horlicks you drink.
-
I agree that Vardy has done his bit, and i think he is likely barely training at all now. We shouldn't be in the position where we are even considering him as the game changing option. Regarding Bristol - the team gave him plenty of chances - the team wern't on their arses at that point, he f4cked that game up himself. Daka's form pre Leeds was good - its as the pressure mounted he has folded, so this isn't a case of Enzo just playing the donkey. Daka had great stats up until his drop off. Kels i agree with. I still think there has been injury and match fitness considerations here.
-
Love the stats - but we need to separate the part from when we were good and when we turned to poo (or maybe just the run in!). Also what goals have changed matches. Of the 4 strikers, Vardy is the only one who has really had an impact on any games since the loss to Leeds. He scored the winner against Sunderland and the equaliser against Hull. The goal against Norwich was important, but we were already 2-1 up and Norwich were panicked, so i'm not considering it game changing. So in the last 5 very key matches he's played 213 minutes and not been able to contribute a game changing goal, with Bristol being arguably the worst game he has played this season, and he was really poor against Millwall. He's largely regresses in the same way Daka has. So in this run in mini league, none of our strikers are contributing important goals and their stats have fallen off a cliff, arguably at the moment you needed them the most. Not done any major analysis on it, but I bet you can easily look at the Leeds game as being the turning point for a lot of our stats and form.
-
Do this and I will wash the car. Thats a promise.
-
Daka deserved to be picked based on his pre afcon form though. There were still assists and goals until the Sheff Weds game (assist against Swansea, 2 goals against Stoke, 1 goal against Watford). It all fell apart for Daka following the Leeds game (that f4cking game!!). 1 game later and Cannons injured and Vardy's game time has to be managed. This 4 have never been consistently 'right', certainly since.
-
Are there any that have?
-
I'm double posting - but do you not think Cannon's injuries has meant they've had to really manage his appearances. I presume match fitness is a problem. With Nacho - PL proven means nothing. You can't live off reputation.
-
We have the goat who still has the ability to produce a bit of magic, but cannot be relied on to be clinical or force something out of anything anymore. Enzo even admitted training time is now managed. Games like Bristol should be the wake up call that we cant be relying on Vardy anymore. He was awful that game. Its worth pointing out that Vardy's last goal that changed a game was against Hull (we were already 2-1 up against Norwich). Daka hasn't kicked on in the English game. Enzo excluded him for a reason and when he came back in the side (because everyone else was f4cked) he surprised everyone by being clinical and also offering something defences weren't expecting to see. However, hes regressed quickly since Afcon and we can't rely on him for anything. It's not confidence, its a lack of application and an inability to deal with pressure, and i think he is only being picked because we cant play Vardy all the time and he trusts the other 2 less. Daka's last goal that changed a game was against Watford (10th Feb!!!) Im not writing anything about Nacho anymore. I think something significant has happened behind the scenes this season and really wish we had offloaded in the summer. Cannon is the outlier. Obviously, the foxestalk theory of 'the one not playing must be the one who is going to save the day' has kicked in. I've liked what little ive seen (that goal against Millwall was great), but nothing suggests he deserves to be considered one of the best forwards in the Championship. I think he will get better though, and hope we will get good things from him in the future. However, i think this injury has been a bigger issue than let on, and his time is being managed. I do expect to see Cannon or Vardy start on Saturday. I don't think we will see Daka start in the final 4 games, and there will be a significant effort to offload him in the summer no matter what. Its all very average.

One is 37 and if trains will be out injured and can't play 90 minutes (love him so much though), 1 falls over constantly and has the physicality of a newt, 1 has been doggo for years and can't wait to get out of the club, and the other has been bought as a future prospect and has spent most of the season with a f4cked back. I don't want 4. Give me what Leeds have got any day of the week.
