Nothing compared to agent fees and players salaries. -
Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR

I know you are pi55ed off, but thats just a stupid comment. Many clubs have spent too much on certain players, and Skipp (although nowhere near good enough) is on a long amortised deal. Heck, he's 'only' cost a bit more than certain players who have barely played for us (looking at you Souttar). We could still break even if we manage to offload him (we somehow got > £11mil for Kasey!!). Unless you are advocating points deductions and transfer embargos for any club what gets a signing wrong? -
oh sh1t - theres a game Boxing Day? What a way to ruin christmas.
-
They are as sh1te as most are in the league. We made the mighty Cov look ordinary, and i think we do more than enough to make Stoke look lame. This has got the Marti 1-1 written all over it

Before Enzo, 2 managers froze out Vestergaard. He went to the press and publically belittled the manager and the club and ended up having to train on his own. Under Smith, they comically put him in a PL2 game where he was one of the worst players on the pitch and then was injured After Enzo, 2 other managers froze him out. Again, there was press talk about him taking this pi55 using Seagrave facilities. He fitted Enzo's style perfectly for the 1st half of that season because we didn't have to do too much defending. Vestergaard was Enzos man. If he hadn't found a role for him, no way would the club have extended his contract - no way. Maresca tinkered with Vestergaards role in the final game against Blackburn, clearly showing he wanted to keep him in the plans.

I always felt the way Facundo frequently lost the ball would have driven Enzo mad. Just checked how he's getting on at Chelsea. 1 PL appearance (45 mins) and not been in the squad for the last 3, so hasnt featured in the last 7 games. In not sure.

He was the reason why we resigned Vestergaard, and a build up play was built around him. Massive revisionism.

Interim Managing Director Appointed
Chelmofox replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yup. And she was dependent on those around her to trust that assets we spend big fees and salaries on, where either worth it or would yield long term profit. -
He seemed to be content that change was possible. So do you think that if Chelsea didnt come calling, Maresca would have left of his own accord?
-
If you are getting manager on the 'way upwards', you are going to be hiring from a lower placed club. You could say this about anyone on the way up (aka Rodgers going to Liverpool from Swansea, Rohl from Sheffield Wednesday). There are a lot of managers that have made the step up. You need to be looking at other attributed and just not attributing to the club they are at. Maresca was a risk and a bit of an outlier, as his prior job at Parma ended in failure. He also used us as a stepping stone, so as soon as someone like Chelsea came calling, he was always going to be gone. Its nothing to do with being treated rightly or wrongly.

So no then.

Was Susan Whelan sacked?

I always thought transfers would be better if it was like wrestlers turning heal. Madders could have defected to Spurs in our home game last season by taking out Faes, whipping his shirt off to reveal a spurs away kit and running over to the away fans. Certainly better than watching 70 mins of us passing it around the back.

Do people think football is like kayfabe WWE or something? In your line of work, do you not know (or are maybe good friends with) people who work for other companies in the same industry who have done well (maybe won awards) and you say to them 'well done mate'. Or do you treat them as the enemy and hit them over the head with a chair? This is a mate congratulating another mate on doing well. People in this industry are allowed to know and respect each other. For every Haarland vs Keane story there are countless that don't hit the headlines because people can still be elite sportsmen and not utter ***ts all the time. Abdul isn't the thick one here.

Was that in King Power offices or a local WeWork? -

Suspicious rash on his chin tells me he had a good night in Patpong yesterday. Im sure he's fine (till the clap test). -
I can make a case for many of them as squad players - but not many would be standout performers anywhere. If Winks / Ayew / BDCR were playing for Cov or Middlesborough, you would probably only remember when we played them. But anyone who thinks that Jannik Vestergaard starts for any other top 6 Championship club is absolutely barking mad.

I've not seen it yet - will sit with the boy and watch later. I dont want to be immediately critical. Language barriers don't mean you are stupid, and in different contexts people come across differently. In interview like this will never be 'warts and all'. But one of the big criticisms is that we were going down the Chansiri route, that Top doesnt give a stuff and will just bankrupt us. As much as i would rather we were taken over by an exceptionally rich, data driven high energy sports enterprise, it doesnt seem Top has thrown the towl in. -
No way does Vestergaard feature in any of the other top 6 plans. Astonishes me anyone would think otherwise. Winks / Skipp are possibles, although both have flaws. Neither have stella output numbers.
-
Isnt he on international duty right now?

Maresca dropped points against dross too. There is revisionism going on here. What made us a success in the 1st half of that season was easily exploited by most teams in the 2nd half of the season, where we lost a massive lead and started playing like children. Lost to Millwall, Plymouth etc etc. Maresca stopped getting a 'tune' out of them, and the first half of that season we had a very different team to what we have now, so saying he 'got a tune out of them' is a pointless argument. Marti isn't the main problem, because he's come in to do a specific job which to some degree is a continuation of what Maresca was doing. Problem is: Maresca team was already worked out and was performing terribly The team is now significantly worse, and took a beating in the PL The core parts of Maresca's vision (Winks and Vestergaard), are older and were worked out last time anyway. They are not as effective as they once were. Even Daka, who had a mini renaissance, has been shocking since that Leeds game where he seemed to lose his soul. I'd argue that Riccy, although technically good still, is nowhere near as effective as he was 1st half Enzo season. We have no KDH, Vardy or Ndidi (1st half that season Ndidi - wasn't the same after injury) to drag us through matches. James feels like the only one who can do something like this. We need to move on from that formula. Maresca wouldn't have this lot in the top 6 right now, but i do think Marti is under indexing that still, but not massively. I support getting rid of Marti if we decide to take this all in a different direction. However, i think heads are up too many arses right now, and even our fans think all this needs is a better version of the current approach. Thinking that we make older Winks, Vestergaard, Soumare, Skipp, Daka, Thomas into a Championship top 2 is mad.

Hopefully somewhere else.

Oh goodness - the Youtube comments against LCFC videos are going to get even worse if this carries on.
-
A top tier manager would just throw his toys out the pram. This is where Maresca was headed anyway. You cleary saw this during that January window, and the talk about wanting change behind the scenes that he was never actually going to get. Marti is trying to get through this being diplomatic, in the hope that the big earners all of a sudden to behaving like d**ks.
