Distinct possibility. It's pretty obvious he views them as a necessary evil, his face is like a slapped arse throughout and frankly I enjoy it and the contempt dripping from his replies. Makes a change from media friendly Rodgers.

Fair enough, I do think though everyone has a price, particularly home grown with a sale being pure upside FFP wise. It depends whether the scouting team/Enzo/club whatever think we can get a replacement or two in for less money. That said, selling him a the end of the Jan transfer window would also be batsh1t crazy unless there are replacements lined up. I just can't see it happening unless he's really unhappy and pushing for a move.

Damning with faint praise my friend 😂

It's been a bad day on FT. Firstly we didn't sell KDH, then our reserve team progressed us in the cup, allowing some key players to rest and giving fringe players and youth time on the park. Now this. Positively fuming.

Let's be honest any club who took this alternative view would be Everton levels of batsh1t crazy. You can lose any player to injury or simply loss of form at any point and then you're left with a points deduction and the same problem.

Praet is a waste of space. Can I have the great post badge now @Mark

Some of us never stood up!

Just a little light humour for an otherwise rather heavy thread

Haven't you melted yet FFS

You joke but this is a pretty perfect summary of FT

A number of fair points. However, can I say for some balance Fofana was clearly unsettled late in the window and was never going to stay or be happy to stay. We had limited time to really do much business after he'd gone and he's also a complete sick note. We got what now looks like a decent player in Faes to replace him. We keep him, he gets injured or puts in half hearted performances then loads on here are whining about it. I think there is less blame to lay at the club's door for that. The same people now complaining about us potentially selling players will be the first to howl at the moon if we breach FFP, of course. Keeping Rodgers was the biggie, when virtually everyone could see the party was over long before the club. I do think much of the poor decision making at player level stems from that malaise including the bonkers decision to keep playing Ward. Our relegation was a huge and unnecessary mistake. But again for balance. We have since got more things right than wrong. The manager being a pretty key one. Also quick player sales to ensure we could make our own purchases early in the summer (but, of course, some moan we undersold our assets, they'd also moan if we didn't sell our assets). Those players brought in have had an almost immediate impact, bar probably Coady but then did any single person on this forum forsee Vesty's renaissance? There is more than a whiff of hysteria amongst our fanbase at this point over a simple rumour. Have we learnt our lessons, well more time is needed really to answer that question. But the immediate reflex reaction to absolute sh1t the bed amongst our fan base is pretty bloody weird imo. Or maybe I'm the weird one and the KDH hysteria thread is normality. In which case I'm having an existential crisis... Edit - so good I quoted you twice!

Even he does well at 'Boro will they pay £5m for him? Seems unlikely. Hopefully he finds some form in any event.
-
You really should know better than to encourage this man. If indeed he is a man and not merely a sh1t joke bot.

Hang on but I'm reliably led to believe the atmosphere is sedate for every match and the stadium empties very early...

If Kasey hadn't been on his heels he may have had a very important assist last night with that lovely little run and cute pass. I'm with you. Think there's a player there but he's just not had consistent game time, obvs that's partly due to fitness, and consistent game time is what he needs.

FFS I've invested a lot of time in this thread.

Yep, have to agree it's the first time I grumbled about our tactics after the game. I thought Doyle on, Hamza into midfield but with Ricardo as I thought Winks looked knackered for the last fifteen or twenty. Winks has played so much football in such a key position I wonder if there's a cumulative affect in terms of mental weariness as much as anything. I do think, FFP notwithstanding, we really could do with a couple of flexible options that Maresca is happy to bring off the bench. Sensi being one of them
-
Winks looked absolutely spent towards the end of last night's game and I think that played a decent part in Ipswich starting to overrun us in midfield. Getting cover for him is the number one priority in my opinion.

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
Bordersfox replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
I don't think it did, or certainly not enough to be concerned about. The pod tends to go off on tangents anyway which I personally enjoy. The main danger is a libel action in future against you Ric for some scurrilous or salacious claim about landlords in Burbage or the like that isn't edited out. As an aside have you thought about an alternative career in late night radio? My wife was away this weekend and after a busy week I had an early night to do a bit of reading and catch up on the pod. It was about the point of Andy Impey when your dulcet tones sent me drifting off to sleep. Mildly disturbing, yet not wholly unpleasant, dreams of beans and sausages followed. -
That's the one I was referring to, thank you CF.

Actually we've been told it happens early next week when Inter return from some competition or other, I can't remember which, someone posted a journo earlier in the thread but I've slept since then so the details escape me. I do find it hard to believe clubs can only manage one thing at a time, but maybe it's just lowish priority for Inter, if they know everything is agreed in principle.

It's chump change though really in the grand scheme of modern football, even with FFP. Particularly given some of the wages we've handed out to some players who really never warranted it on ability. We're taking a calculated risk, going into the deal with the full knowledge of his injury record. If it doesn't work out I won't be overly bothered. Just don't think it warrants much angst. If he does stay fit, well it's an absolute steal and that's a huge upside. I look forward to him stubbing his toe in the first game and never being seen again of course 😂

Exactly but you know how this place gets 🙄

It's hard not to like Brentford really, fans actually enjoying themselves.
