  1. A pint of some pale ale in my local that I was persuaded to try as 'it's from Leicestershire and so are you'. Absolute swill. Horrible stuff. New buildings brewery. In fairness it might be on its last legs.
  2. Whilst very far from a conspiracy theorist there are numerous examples of corporate cover ups that have been exposed. Large organisations seek to protect themselves and if that means riding roughshod over a few (or a lot of) innocent people then so be it. Sad but true. DuPont comes to mind.
  3. I've mentioned this before but Private Eye have covered this extensively as they did with the Post Office scandal. We'll probably never know what actually happened but what is clear is that the evidence, particularly expert, against Letby doesn't stand up, the police did a poor job and it very much looks like there was some serious ars3 covering going on at the hospital.
  4. 4 pints of Cotswold Brewery Green Man IPA at the bullbaiters on Worcester. Very good pint, Citra vibes.
  5. Apologies I've not been as regular on the forum recently. Weavers is good from the station if you travel by train. Plough is an absolute gem of a boozer. Copenhagen street has both Oil Basin and a Belgian beer bar that are great. They are close to the Plough and on the way from Weavers if that's your first stop. Firefly is in the opposite direction, still 5m from the centre and is the best boozer from a purely 'beer' perspective and is always well supported. If you want character then head to Charles II or Cardinals hat. Fantastic beamed boozers, they'll have a decent cask selection but nothing exciting particularly. The Dragon is known for Guiness if that's your bag, it's not mine so I've not been but supposed to be a nice gaff. There's others as well. A really underrated place to go drinking. Food wise depends what you are after! The oil basin and Belgian place have a guy between them that does pizzas. Bubbles the wine bar does really nice small plates. There's a Turkish grill called Anatolian Palace that's good. For brunch Waylands Yard opposite Weavers is excellent but gets very busy. Sweet Greek also good for lunch and coffee. If you are looking for any specific cuisine DM.
  6. Lol at all the simps on here crying corruption.
  7. He is. Shame. Great player.
  8. They're absolutely right. It's taken a good ten years for King Power to totally fvck us. Lasting change indeed.
  9. Highlight for me was Coady referring to Man City 'rubbing their lips' at tonight's result.
  10. It was something entirely made up on this forum.
  11. The few moments of non comms was a blessed relief frankly.
  12. I went out for a few beers in and around Leicester for the first time in many years tonight. Fvcking hell. I mean just fvcking hell. Dystopian. I know there are other towns and cities struggling but the place is on its arse. Really sad to see. Unrecognisable from the city of my youth.
  13. You mean Derbyshire born John Bloor?
  14. I've not been back drinking in Leicester for an age. I'm meeting my wife's family who are Charlton fans at the train station a couple of hours before the game. Can anyone recommend central pubs that will be okay to visit before and after the match, preferably that do reasonable beer. They won't be waving their Charlton scarves around but will obviously need to avoid any particularly partisan pubs. Thank you I'm advance!
  15. Had half a Putty in Weavers opposite foregate street. Strange old venue but really excellent cask and keg selection. Then on to the Plough for several excellent pints of Salopian Paper Planes a very hazy, hoppy cask pint. The gaff was packed. Think I first frequented 12 or 13 years ago and it's the same landlord/lady. Know their sh1t and a number of continental lagers and Belgian beers on keg. Great whisky selection. Moved to Worcester a few weeks ago, already knew it reasonably well; a superb, diverse and well supported pub scene. Vastly better crawl than central Birmingham, not that it's difficult, but I think it's an underrated city for boozing.
  16. Do your job tomorrow Keith. You've got a twinkle in your eye and you've confounded the naysayers. Do your fvcking job.
  17. Charlton took that young left back on loan from Liverpool. He cannot be worse than our current options. Even with financial constraints there are things we could and should be doing. Identifying problem areas and fixing them... we don't do that here.
  18. Not really that bothered but anyone know if there is a pub that's likely to show this in central Brum?
  19. Could you specify which board and what language is offending you?
  20. Done. Hopefully one vote closer to positive change.
  21. Until I read this so had I. £55m
  22. The players aren't in the WW1 trenches. They are overpaid, giant pampered babies. Who currently rank 24th in the league for, essentially, running around and 23rd for sprints. Several of whom have been banished because they clearly have absolutely no interest in playing for us. Imagine being in the trenches with this lot! Paid a fortune and can't even be arsed to break into a sprint. Thank fvck they aren't in the trenches they'd be court martialled for desertion! To mix up WW analogies, that's the blitz spirit for you!
  23. Good luck to you then. I hope you do get the information and that's a useful precedent. I deal with FOIs regularly for a central government department and not a chance we'd be giving information provided by commercial stakeholders up in the first instance.* Be interesting to know if the fan groups won on appeal or whether it was released voluntarily. *a lot does obviously depend on particular circumstances. Was or is the West Ham stadium publicly subsidised for example (I think it was), that will absolutely lower the threshold on the public interest test.
