We both agree that Thomas on a 4 year deal is terrible business. But, I can’t agree that it’s the same as overpaying weekly salaries, we’ve been unable to shift dross for years as no-one else is moronic enough to pay what we pay. I can’t wait for the next two summers when so many of these “PL experienced” players all walk out for free, shambles.

Sorry but that type of response is similar to “replace Rodgers with who?”. Birmingham were on their knees, yet they were an attractive prospect for Brady and co. I appreciate that it’s obviously harder to sell when outside the PL but Top either learns how to run a football club or looks for potential buyers/investors.

Exactly this. Top and KPFC need to sell up. They’re out of their depth and we’re only going to fall further behind other clubs, scarily ones that wouldn’t even have been on our radar just 3/4 years ago.

DCL would be on very big wages but I totally agree. We are run like an amateur outfit competing against professionals.

Sorry but this so wide of the mark. We are in this sorry state because of how much we overpay our players. Thomas is a different story but confident he’s likely on half of what JJ and others are on. Not defending the club for extending Thomas’ contract btw.

JJ was on huge wages and had one year left on his contract. Him going wasn’t the issue, it was the fact that all of our FB options (sorry Ricky P) are rancid. We have probably played against 10/12 genuinely better FB’s, who are likely on a fraction of what our players are being paid too.

Ayew was certainly one of our many problems yesterday. Even when we looked good in the first half, that was actually almost derailed by Ayew’s lack of ability to either keep up with the play or be in a position that would help any build up. I’ve been critical of Reid’s place (more him being a 10), but I’d genuinely rather see him as a false 9 than Ayew.

Thomas is an embarrassment. I can’t think of another professional defender, who had/has the strength of a toddler. Imagine getting paid silly money, to just put in zero effort to better yourself.

He talks like a bottom half Championship manager. Get him out of my club!!

Can I change my answer to Marti in the “most hated 11” thread? Rodgers was at least good for 18 months. Marti has to be in contention for being our worst ever manager.

Nelson was done by a simple ball over the top. Okoli (once again) was the wrong side of his man. Both hardly covered themselves in glory.

That was shocking by both Nelson and Okoli.

Daka and Page on for Ayew and Reid please. They hate pace in behind yet it’s 65 minutes and persisting with Ayew and Reid.

Spot on. Where has the one time passing gone this half? We were pressing in packs, now they all look passive and nervous. Marti is a fraud, we’ll be the biggest club that even likely interview the dosser.
