What does wind me up about Jannik is he can actually put his foot in too. However, that seems very infrequently and often gets muscled off the ball by much smaller players. A very infuriating player in my eyes.

A lot of mental gymnastics being on display in this thread. Mads was class until his injury, he has the same issue that Kasper had with his commanding of the 6 yard box. However, he is quality and will be Denmark’s number 1, once Kasper hangs up his gloves.

Point taken TBF. I thought that comparing Marti to Fergie/Shankly etc was just a bit OTT, I should have stated that Marti’s track record has been average and QPR were in an extremely average position after leaving them.

I’d genuinely suggest re-reading my post, it’s not about QPR but the average nature of everything that he displayed at QPR and before. Imagine defending Marti’s record at any club and saying it’s been anything other than bottom half Championship at best. There is a difference between commenting on that and an up and coming young manager who has actually proven a track record of winning at a lower level.

Marti literally talks about growing up in Barcelona as his biggest managerial achievement. Yet the managers that you listed either played for the elite (Kompany) or had an elite mindset/leadership quality (the other three), all you have to do is read up on Shankly, Fergie and Wenger, they were ahead of their times/motivators that saw players running through walls for them/their ideas. Do I list off 100’s of other managers who failed because they just don’t have “it”, which is sadly what Marti is proving as falling into. I totally agree with the OP who said about shopping in the QPR window for a distinctly average manager and you’ll get average results.

It would be funny though if Abdul hit BTA with a stunner.

Enzo had an elite mentality, Marti doesn’t, it really is as simple as that. If he continues to play JJ (our best CM) out of position then surely no one can defend him. This whole talk of players are two years older, omit that Fatawu is also in this camp and should be a bigger threat for us this season but Marti and his lack of identity have nullified that.

A good reply mate. Any manager who plays our best CM out of position (JJ), should be labelled as not helping himself though. Throw in his disregard until he was beyond desperate to play Nelson too. He’s a mid table Championship manager at best IMO.

Are you suggesting that Marti is currently performing well? I couldn’t care less about Will Still, has the charisma of a sloth but Marti is bang average at best. We are and will be the biggest club that he ever gets a sniff to manage.

I think we’re oddly agreeing about it all. I am not condoning the chant and it goes completely against my own values. What I (and appears others) are trying to bring to the table is that the action of a handful of people that I wouldn’t likely spend time with have caused a reaction from our owners/FAB. Yet when a larger percentage of fans opinions about other matters such as BC Game as a sponsor, our PSR issues (should I carry on) fall on deaf ear.

Rightly or wrongly, would it though? The Rudkin chant was a Glazer one and a quick Google search suggests that there’s zero evidence/precedent other wise. You can think that the chant was hideous, stress that fact and move on. Adding hate crime comments to me, takes away any focus/accountability from the dubious club statement.

Completely agree. Whilst as others have commented the WYS “hate crime” messaging really lost me. I don’t condone the chants but ignoring that we’ve taken it from Manchester United (likely more too) has been completely ignored. A quick Google search and I can confirm that there have been zero charges for the aforementioned (horrible) chants.

I’m not condoning the chants in the slightest but thought that I’d pick up a theme. We get radio silence from our board/owners yet in recent times that we’ve heard from Top/the club have been when they want to have a moan about their own fans. I can’t think of many other comms other than when we got relegated the first time and Top said about how he received some mean social media comments. Where is the acknowledgment of how many fans have continued to travel/pay obscene amounts when the performances on the pitch have far from warranted it?

Ruud was inept but he at least tried raising standards of our dossers. Marti gives me Sousa vibes.

I can’t shake some of Marti’s comments about certain players, a couple of weeks ago he said something along the lines of “Jordan is an international captain, I don’t need to discuss his record/stature in the game”. Marti is so out of his depth and almost star struck by players who have actually played for their countries, we are and will be the biggest club that he’ll ever manage.

We all know what’s going to happen with Abdul, he’ll continue to be bang average, we’ll need to cash in as our only obvious saleable asset yet he’ll reach lofty new heights at his new club.

I have strong dislike for Faes, Soumare etc but I just feel embarrassed for Reid. The lad is an absolute nothing of a player. No pace, no guile, questionable technique too. We have him for another season and a half though 😢

His performance was as if you’ve broken your controller on FIFA and your players just casually jockey the opposition/ball.

Does anyone else get annoyed by Thomas’ long throw? It is so weak and barely makes the box.

Imagine being Ayling (who was past it 2/3 years ago) and being up against a winger who is slower than him.
