  1. I don’t see how anyone who isn’t a PGMOL ref could like it in its current format. That said, technology generally is here to stay and there is a place (in my view) to have a way of picking up absolute howlers. But something that has been missed or given that comes under the category of absolute howler, is instantly visible the second you look again so you don’t need more than 20/30 seconds. Otherwise it is not clear and obvious. It just gets used for too often and incorrectly. It was never meant to scrutinise every goal and try and disallow goals. And obviously run by those who are either completely incompetent or corrupt and in some cases, both.
  2. Funnily enough one of those to come the closest to bringing his own record from 2015! In fact since then, has anyone else scored in 8 consecutive games?
  3. I get what your saying but sadly, with technology taking over more and more and AI etc, they won’t bin it. And it does work in other sports. It’s not the technology but ingrained incompetence and/or corruption in this sport due to the amount of money involved. For a start, as has been said over and over, it needs to be run by impartial people who are not part of PGMOL and in the ‘mates club’. Secondly, what about a challenge based system like in tennis? Rather than every single decision being looked at, you get one per half or something. If your teams manager doesn’t get it checked or has already used it, tough shit. I feel it would limit the use of it and put the onus of when back on the teams involved. Obviously would still need competent and honest individuals involved though. I dunno, just know it won’t get binned and thinking how it could be implemented better
  4. Sunderland was a strange one. We definitely had the chances (Casadei x2 + Nacho) to have got 4. They had some good half chances, nothing particularly clear cut. But I agree with the view on the performance overall not being what it was. It felt we lost any control of the game particularly in the second half and ultimately, controlling game is Enzo’s thing. We also started to look leggy in that game which carried on into QPR and last night. Probably just need this upcoming break and a couple of numbers back from injury. Navigate through Decembers heavy fixture list and freshen things up in January.
  5. I presumed they meant Hull, Leeds and Liverpool?
  6. After last night, the key area to address in January is the central midfield (number 8’s). We are looking stretched with Ndidi out. Casadei is not the answer and if KDH is having an off day, we struggle. The lack of rotation option for Ricardo and Justin with Doyle out long term is also a problem. This is the only real issue with the summer transfer window that we allowed this to happen. If anything the surprise is that is was Doyle out but we wouldn’t have been surprised had it been Ricardo or Justin so still short sighted with the recruitment. The strikers haven’t been great but with 4 on the books already, I can’t see any incoming business in that area. Hopefully Cannon can be that man when fit.
  7. The problem remains, if there is one team that could win 13 of the first 14 games and still end up in the play offs, it’d be Leicester. As a club, we are literally either sublime or ridiculous and often flip flopping between the two within the same season. We don’t seem to have a middle ground! I wouldn’t change it to being a boring nothing club mind! Now I’m not saying that’ll be the case this season, but this is a wake up call and makes those saying we will win every game, we are the only team in this league and be up by Christmas blah blah look very silly and premature. The team looked like they thought they just had to turn up and believed the hype whereas Leeds wanted it more. Some very poor performances and from Enzo as well who demonstrated no alternative plan. Since the last international break, despite the wins continuing until last night, we haven’t looked as comfortable as between the September and October breaks. I think we will benefit from this coming break after the Boro game, get a couple back, namely Ndidi. A break for some such as Ricardo, Justin and Winks who are having to put a lot of minutes in. Lets hope it is a catalyse for another big winning run like Hull was
  8. Hmm. Deserved lead for them. We have had no control on the game and look on the ropes when they come at us. Hopefully we can find some inspiration from the bench!
  9. Yep. I think some people are not capable of a balanced view and it has to be all or nothing. If you have a view that is anything but we are going to smash everyone 5-0, you are a pessimist and not a tRUe FaN! Ultimately, there is no result that would surprise me tonight. They are so inconsistent, it’s so hard to know which version will show up. At the same time, our last two games haven’t been up to the standards shown before albeit with very pleasing results. I just think enjoy each game as it comes without having to ram down peoples throats that your view is better than theirs
  10. They aren’t as good as they think they are no. But in the context of this league, they are still one of the top sides with the capability to cause us problems and yes, beat us if we are not on it. Their problem is consistency which is why people are a bit cautious as you don’t know which version will turn up. Thats not pessimism. We go into the game confident and knowing if we implement our game, we have an excellent chance of winning. But we shouldn’t expect to simply turn up and turn them and everyone else over as many of our fans seem to think we are entitled to do. We are winning games because Enzo has them working hard and not being cocky.
  11. Their fans are definitely a different breed! Apologies, I thought you were referring to our fans! There seems to be a section of our fans who object to anything positive said about anything non Leicester and take it as a slight on us. He did score a couple of impressive finishes against Norwich. I’d take him in our side but as I say, only because I feel he is more productive than Mavididi.
  12. Who has made this comparison apart from you ironically? He’s 5 highest goal scorer in the league, higher than any of ours with 6 goals and 4 assists in 11 games. There’s not many from their side who’d get into ours and a combined 11 is most certainly dominated by us. But to not realise that Summerville is a very good player, who would get in our side and who if we don’t have a plan for him will cause us problems, is just silly.
  13. Nail on head. Belgium/Netherlands and Austria/Switzerland, smaller, neighbouring countries with similar cultures. Not a lot of travelling for fans and good tournaments. Even Spain/Portugal/Morocco are close but why South America in the same one! I kind of like USA and Canada for 2026 but adding Mexico in seems too larger geographical spread (if USA and Canada was pushing it)!
  14. Those who are plastering that he is a murderer all over social media and making it a race thing are the pond life of society let’s be right. I don’t know Ice Hockey well so don’t feel entitled to a view as said above. However, as also said above, what sports player is deliberately trying to do that to an opponent? Maybe there’s a middle ground where he was trying to foul him and it went heavily wrong but that is for investigations to determine and this ‘guilty before proven innocent’ seems to be a very frustrating trait of society now that social media dictates things…. Being in Sheffield, I do know people who were there and have seen lots of people who were there’s views and it seems that of people who do know the sport and were in attendance, there is not a view of it being deliberate.
  15. Pretty sure he’s just trolling them at this point! Biggest WUM going!
  16. Not being funny but these principles are what left us lumbered with Rodgers whilst we fell apart with him sat on a long contract. Yes Maresca clearly has more class and professionalism in his little finger nail than Rodgers has ever had but the principles are the same. I would personally rather than club have long term strategic planning in place so that if we lose Maresca, we can replace him well. Like Brighton did with Potter and are Zerbi. Same goes for players.
  17. Summerville and Piroe walk into our side. Not sure really of the others. They seem to have a lot of talent in those areas thought whereas we are a bit lighter. Of course the table shows that in terms of a consistently performing side, we are very much ahead. But if we are not on it like we haven’t really been these last couple of games, they could easily turn us over. If we are on our game, we should also have too much for them. Overall, to keep the 14 point gap, I’d be quite happy with a draw. Main thing is not to lose.
  18. It seemed strange to suddenly bring him on in the week after being left out. Probably puts the rumours of it being financial to bed. Perhaps like others, Enzo didn’t include him pre-September in the expectation he would be leaving. It might be that due to Vardy and Nacho picking up some form by then, he just genuinely hasn’t got minutes but Maresca and his team might have been working with him on his weaknesses in training to try and get some improvement on them to start integrating him back into the team. Maresca clearly knows his stuff. Ndidi looked a new player from the off. Vesteragard I thought looked dodgy for the first few games but is now a rock. He threw both in and they adapted whilst in the team. He might have decided Daka needed more time and behind the scenes.
  19. Thought he had a good game and there wasn’t anything really wrong with the shots on the two he should have scored. They were top saves by Patterson and there’s a reason he got MOTM! As others have said, the flicks in and driving forward in the second half. Hopefully he becomes an important player for us but the slow start personally to the season, perhaps grounding him and making him see Chelsea isn’t for him….at least not yet.
  20. Based on averages. We had all this last season with our relegation…… Notts County last season. Fortunately they won the playoffs but had they not, they wouldn’t have got promoted despite getting the second highest points total in that leagues history because it was in just the same season Wrexham got the highest. Any other year in history it was enough to be top so it’s unlucky in the respect of timing. It’s literally clear that’s what it means! I don’t like Leeds and hope they flop but it’s an easy concept to ‘get’!
  21. Right annoys me when people try and drive through floods and end up claiming insurance! We’ve lost one of our cars to this storm but not from diving stupidly through water. My wife took her car to our local garage on Thursday and the mechanic and owner kept it in as the repair needed made it unsafe to drive. And he wasn’t going to get to it before the weekend. Yesterday morning we wake up and see photos rolling in on social media that the next village where the garage is has flooded and although we haven’t been able to get to the car, we have seen photos and video footage. It was even in the background of BBC Breakfast live reporting this morning 😬 Obviously nothing we could have done. The council and environmental agency said this would not happen with the defences in place which have apparently failed. We are hoping our insurance are not going to be awkward with us as we do not want to drag the garage owner into it as he has lost his home and business in the flood! But you’re right, there will be so many claims from people who it is their own stupid fault!
  22. Crazy to be saying he is better than Kasper right now and actually not fair on the lad himself! Let him build with us and not make outlandish statements like this. He does look like he has a potentially stronger rounded game. Kasper definitely had some flaws that his unbelievably top shot stopping masked. But, Kasper did it for years and year at the very top level, winning the league, almost single handedly the FA cup and again, one of the key parts with his penalty saves to getting us into the quarter finals of the CL. It must be recency bias or something or people can’t remember a time before Danny Ward
  23. 29th November at Hillsborough. Either going to be: Sheffield Weds 1-0 Leicester or Sheff Weds 0-7 Leicester And nowhere between isn’t it
  24. Was going to say, the River Don goes immediately past so it may be car parks and turnstiles have got floods. I live in Rotherham and it’s been torrential all day. Our village has 3 ways in and out and all are cut off which very rarely happens so I’m not surprised they’ve decided not to plan the match.
  25. Ok, interesting thank you. So if England, Scotland and Wales for example, qualified in their own right and the 2 Irish sides didn’t, they’d qualify anyway and all 5 would be in. Id imagine maybe 4 of the 5 possible end up qualifying overall then would be my guess.
