Bedtime reading for Martin and Aiyawatt! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cmn45n5d8wq7o

Concerning that this is our best moment of the season so far! What does that say for on the pitch? What a waste of time playing him at Barnsley though.

Food is an interesting one. You see how conspiracy theorists are obsessed by illnesses and rises in cancer rates for example as well as neurodivergent conditions and that they must be down to jabs, specifically the Covid jab. If you look though at what is in the foods sold on supermarket shelves and that tells the story for me. Preservatives, additives and none of it good (carcinogens). It intrigued me how these people are completely oblivious to the evidence about the food they are eating (evidence enough to be on the information provided) yet obsess over unproven theories about vaccines. But that wasn’t the point and I digress. We have started getting what we can from a local farm shop for the above health reasons but also the benefits to the environment. We get our meat, fruit and veg from there. We’d like to branch out more but unfortunately there are still so many things you can’t just get away or would have to go to so many independent places it would take so much time when you’re working full time. It’d be great for the environment and public health if more locally sourced foods could be more easily purchased (logistically and cost wise) in village stores and local farms.

Yes, we should expect the club to be run better so that we aren’t languishing in midtable in League 1, exactly. But what we see with much of our fanbase is we will just start eventually brushing aside these sides and we don’t need to worry about all these dropped points. Difference between ambition and standards and as you say, just expecting to walk it because we are Leicester City and yes, historically much bigger than League 1. The former is fair, the latter is uneducated arrogance.
-
Exactly, the arrogance from our fan base that we must do well because we have the highest wage bill etc. It’s the best example out there that culture, mentality and standards etc mean much more. Until we accept that we will continue to struggle.
-
When people refer to the Championship or League 1 being dog much, they conveniently forget that we were relegated from the former and on course to struggle in L1 now. What does it make us?

Manchester City Found Guilty Of Almost All Charges
LCFCJohn replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
I mean yeah, I essentially said as much. But I think the narrative that we’d not have fallen on difficult times had we even qualified for the Champions League is simplistic and gives the actions of the club a pass. As others have said, it would have just been more revenue to waste. We had so many millions of revenue come through the club as it is already and look at us. We won the league and qualified for the CL and had an awful window and wasting a ton. I guess I see it as claiming out of principle which is fine, rather than it having materially changed the direction of our club. -
Manchester City Found Guilty Of Almost All Charges

I don’t like this being used as an excuse for our demise like it excuses the actions of Aiyawatt. It can be true that the actions of Man City impacted those seasons but as has been said so often, it didn’t result in the years of decisions that have continued to shaft us time and time again. -
Yeah, essentially Vichai didn’t really know what he was doing in a footballing sense but was a good enough business man and was humble enough to admit mistakes and listen to others. Aiyawatt is arrogant and won’t learn from his mistakes. But definite parallels with 2010-11 but doubling down rather than changing direction. But still people idolise Aiyawatt? Make it make sense!

It’s not just a specific position the club is it at a moment in time though. At the time they took over, it was a club in the ascendancy. Breezed through L1 and straight into the playoffs. But more importantly, the backroom structure that was the root of our successful period was already well in place with Pearson. Let’s not pretend we were a struggling club that needed some pioneering input from the owners to turn us around. It was already happening. Their early decisions to drop Pearson, being in Souza then Sven whilst spending big on average players with poor attitudes (sounds familiar) set us back a couple of years before Pearson returned and put it right. We’ve also suffered a lot of reputational damage under the KP ownership. The promotion in 2014 had a stigma attached for financial irregularities as we had paid that settlement. Then the financial side has really hit the fan in the past few years.

I mean yeah! To be fair, I don’t think it’s so much that the sentences in recent years for those assaulting police etc in protests are unreasonable. But more that it often shows how lenient sentences for other crimes can be. 5 years for driving under the influence and killing someone but 2 years for this that I’ve posted for example. I’m pleased to see some tougher sentences but it needs to go further for other crimes. There’s clearly an element of making a point to the sentences from the judicial system. But then the ‘patriots’ are essentially doing the same. All a bit tit for tat.

Streets are a bit safety for a couple of years then! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8vgy7ww21rqo Do they get their benefits paid whilst in prison?
-
I mean it’s really reassuring to know that a guy who was imprisoned for kidnapping (and the wrong person at that) is so concerned about our safety Obviously an utterly vile individual but the fact he chose to commit such a crime and didn’t even get the right person shows he clearly doesn’t even have enough brain cells to scrape together to get onto the lowest end of the IQ scale! And this is who Nigel Farage has as his main foot soldier doing his bidding for him…

Has Daniel Thomas got a mention on here yet actually?

Warren O’Hora joins on 3 year deal - Official
LCFCJohn replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’m cautious about any centre backs looking good trying to play the Martin way. Elite teams and players can get away with it but we are not. I don’t want to judge the players as being crap as if O’Hora was playing a simplified game, he might be quite steady. -
Ok fair enough. Yeah there would be additional costs potentially. It was more a general point that can be applied elsewhere though that charging more isn’t always better if you can charge less but make more overall. But yeah, I wouldn’t know the overall figures that would apply here.
-
Yeah wasn’t saying they all would be logic still says 2000 vs 10000 will still get more spending.
-
I’m not sure what the prices were but the principle is absolutely sounds (the principle of Davie not the club) £5 x 10000 people = £50000 and 10k people spending in the ground £10 even x 2000 = £20000 and 1/5 of the potential revenue at the ground. Greed and delusion over basic maths at play…
-
The result doesn’t really matter does it. We know we won’t score goals like this against the opposition we face in the league but we have also learned we are vulnerable at the other end to literal kids….
-
How bad are Fulham kids! Must be lower than National League N/S standard surely?
-
Yeah I agree with all that. We probably already need to look at 75 which was a play off place last year. Even that would require a decent upturn in form though. I was more just questioning that the pre-season ambition being 90 would make it out worst ever season. I actually think it’s unintentional as I can’t imagine anyone at the club (and I include Rudkin who was around then) even knows we got 96 points in 2008/09.
-
There’s a side point here. Aside from the fact that 90 points is completely unrealistic based on all the evidence, and 60 and mid-table is the ceiling really, this 90 points is apparently the target and the aspiration. So essentially, given our previous worst finish was winning this league in our only previous appearance in it, with 96 points, this is the club openly aspiring for our worst ever season in our history! The only thing more tragic than that is the fact we can all openly see that is a completely unrealistic target in the first place!
-
There is zero evidence that we will get anywhere near 90 points. We are on course for 59 which seems more realistic.
-
I think many of our fans don’t really appreciate that games at the start of the season are as important to the end of season total and outcome as those at the business end. Cardiff got 91 points in 2nd place last season (although 3rd was 77 points so quite low). But they drew 10 and lost 9. 19 games points dropped in. We have 5 already so basically 1/4 of that, in 7 games. So basically on course to mathematically be unable to get to 90 points by match 28. It’s only when you break it down and think of it like that that it shows how poor this start is. I think people just assume we have all these games (which is true) and will automatically just win enough (not true).
-
In the past few years, it feels we have had a bad group of players and we’ve had a string of, albeit it average or downright poor, managers who have made no impact. This season feels different to me. It feels we have a strong squad (for the league) and in the main good characters, and it is the over complicated approach from Martin which seems to me, that they team appear to be playing with the handbrake on. I’m not against Martin in a personal sense, just that he seems a bad fit for what it needs to be successful in this league. I haven’t been active on this thread calling for his head or anything. But I’d be interested to see how other managers would do with this squad.
