He just seems to lack so many fundamental skills a professionel goalkeeper should have, i.e. position, awareness, etc.. And you’re right it does look like what was left of his confidence has been completely shattered - which is another recipe for disaster.

All of those attributes mentioned is pretty much the definition of Kasper Schmeichel as a character - it's clearly missing this season, the will to fight.

When our current goalie plays like any goalie you'd pull out of a sunday league side, then yes it does make Kasper seem like Lev Yashin in comparison.

When you're already struggling with form and morale it doesn't help that you are constantly 2-3 goals behind, you're not catching a break. I mean yes our defense is shit, but half of the goals we have conceded has been goals you'd expect a PL goalie to save most of the time - Ward lacks the basic fundamentals to be playing at this level. I honestly think he's below championship level, and given that's where we seem to be headed, we need to get rid of him ASAP.

I’d be surprised if we get Thomas Frank, what he has built in Brentford is truly remarkable and is reminiscent to our own journey to the premier league. For him to throw all that away would probably require a significant pay jump that we wouldn’t be willing to give anyway.

I miss Kasper, what a presence he was. Bilingual but far more articulate than any English national I've seen interviewed. Just watched an extended highlight of the FA finals, Kasper hands down won us that game, what a player!
