The cov game was their biggest for years and it was loud but it’s not been like that since or even close. But I remember thinking at the end of that game that we wouldn’t be able to produce anything close to that at home. Leeds have historically always had really good support and I think they thrive on that reputation. There’s levels to the passion that each club has. It seems we’ve lost it.

Oh we have it in us for sure. I think that’s where we are above the likes of a Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth when we do a Preston away for example. I think it’s a mentality issue. People come and there’s just an air of can’t be arsed to be here. I don’t get it at all. I know a lot of people get pissed off when Leeds are bought up when atmosphere is discussed but them lot have a real pride in their club and city. They are proper up for it. We just don’t seem to have anything close to it and whilst it’s an English football problem, we have to do better.

I was speaking to the mechanic who does my car, big Leicester fan and we got onto the topic of our fanbase. He was in the pens and said that Leicester has never been a singing club, its natural state is to be quiet and reserved. It can get going but ultimately it’s never at any point been particularly good. Maybe it’s just not in the clubs culture.

I agree with all of this but I do think we have a major mentality problem in the fanbase. Even our younger fans don’t really do themselves any favours. It just doesn’t bother people enough. Look at all our neighbours. Derby, forest, Coventry, villa, wolves, even West Brom and Birmingham have better support. It’s just weird, I don’t even know what the answer is but we do genuinely have a terrible reputation now across the country as a fanbase and it’s deserved. I’m too young to have gone filbert street but it can’t have been like this surely.

It’s why I get livid with this fanbase. There’s zero passion and then when we end up in the state you describe, everyone will look at each other like oh how’s that happended.

When we get the points deduction next season, it’ll get to a point where the national media will finally wake up to how poorly run we are. Maybe then our fans will wake up to it too. That’s the only silver lining.

There’s a no blame, pretend everything is fine culture at the club. I don’t like king power at all and the media guy that gets people banned if you speak out against it needs going too. It’s annoying and the swamp needs draining.
