  1. Meanwhile, here's Radio 5's decision chart: ---------------------------------------------------------- Are Man U playing? If yes, feature the Man U match. If no, are Man U Ladies playing? If yes, feature the Man U match. If no, are they playing cricket at Old Trafford? if yes, cover the cricket and talk about Man U. If no, b******s - feature Man C and talk about Man U. etc.
  2. I predicted 4-nil. Crumbs of comfort...
  3. Hipster? Yeah, Kier Starmer - cool as **** ...
  4. I hope the knockers are satisfied. I frankly think that the team have got further in three of the last four competitions than they would have without the waistcoated gent.
  5. But didn't he play for Spu... ? Oh, yeah, I get it...
  6. Yes - I don't get how we're supposed to have fantastic players, who then get played out of the game while the opposition's fantastic players continue unchecked...
  7. Wasn't Pearson defensive as well?
  8. Yes, the request for a poem from me was an afterthought after a prompt from ChatGP as part of something else (actually asking which England players were 'left' from 1966 and 1970). I use it quite often as it does a good job of condensing my rigmarole into a succinct web search. It's OK as long as we're prepared to do a 'sensibility check' on what it serves up. The day to dread is when it becomes faultless...
  9. While 'chatting' to ChatGP I asked them to write me a poem about Foxes from 1972 to the present day. Here's what it came up with. Seems to be a stranger to rhyme and also to think that City's 'disaster' portfolio stretches beyond that tragic helicopter crash. What do we think, boys and girls? Leicester City, a club with history From Fosse Road to Filbert Street From Second Division to Premier League From relegation battles to European dreams Leicester City, a club with heroes From Frank Worthington to Gary Lineker From Emile Heskey to Jamie Vardy From Martin O’Neill to Claudio Ranieri Leicester City, a club with tragedy From the Munich air disaster to the King Power crash From the Hillsborough disaster to the Covid-19 pandemic From the loss of life to the loss of passion Leicester City, a club with resilience From the great escape to the miracle season From the Champions League quarter-finals to the FA Cup triumph From the grief and pain to the joy and celebration Leicester City, a club with loyalty From the fans in blue to the owners in white From the local legends to the foreign stars From the old generation to the new generation Leicester City, a club with destiny From the underdogs to the champions From the impossible to the possible From the dreamers to the believers Leicester City, a club with history...
  10. They allegedly introduced scalping into north America...
  11. This post is right on the money, and saved me having to say it all. I wanted our girls to win, but agree that in a way I'm glad they didn't, as we'd never have heard the last of it. There's no way this final is equivalent to the men's game. Who said so? My daughter. Both Bronze and James are good players, but both showed lapses, one of which 'let the whole school down'. I agree that 'fans nouveau' tend to leap on the bandwagon around the stage of a quarter-final win, and it is these who tend to know stink all about football and perpetuate the myth that we only had to turn up to lift the trophy; this time there were arguably more women and kids in the mix, along with TV faces and Sunaks. While I can't agree with the 'blowing it in the games where it matters' comment (after their Euro win), I do agree that many of the other foibles of the England men's team have permeated.
  12. Mike Stringfellow and Alan Woollett...
  13. Enzo - Yes, just what we need: more monotonous droning in post-match interviews 😄 😄 . I agree, let's look on the upside...
  14. This, to me, was the pivot (i.e. losing Vichai). I've never felt that Top had the 'feel' for football that his Dad had, and this led to a domino effect including losing Kasper, etc. ...
  15. Agree, but we started the season in this disastrous fashion...
  16. I like any and all of them when they play to their level oif capability...
  17. I'm not 'clinging on'. I believe some of the young players will come through and will play well in the Championship. I also predict that at least one new 'name' will come good in the next few years.
  18. Sofarrso good, but worried about Everton scrambling a winner. Wish Bournemouth had nicked one...
  19. If Foxes win and Everton don't, the Leeds result is immaterial (short of a cricket score)
  20. That's what I hoped . I generally agree with your thoughts...
