  1. They're not world class, but Debast and Theate are no mugs.
  2. He'll only get better from facing PL strikers. If we go down, I could see a side like Brentford or Brighton going for him. If we stay up, then I suspect one or two top sides will be seriously looking.
  3. He's Belgium's first choice. You'd imagine it's not hard to find a better alternative if he was really as bad as some on here make him out to be.

    Iversen

I wonder if a move to Denmark is still on. Their window closes tomorrow. Not got a clue who'll have him, but realistically there's only 2-3 clubs that can afford his wages...
  5. Everton capitulation hits a bit close to home, reminding me of the Bergwijn show
  6. I did read that they're paying half his reported 300k wage - we'd should be biting someone's hand off if they saved us 25k and a Big Mac a week.
  7. I'll gladly stand corrected, apologies if it offended anyone. I was really just trying to point out that our squad is multicultural and has a dash of the entire world in it.
  8. When Chelsea can offload Sterling despite astronomical wages, we surely couldve found a similar arrangement.
  9. Other pointless observations: Technically we've signed just two British players (out of 9), one of them being a youngster. Plenty of coloured players in the squad as well. I count 17 different (primary) nationalities as well in the first squad.
  10. 40-50k a week for Chilwell would have been decent. Now Chelsea are likely stuck with him until at least January.
  11. I'd rate our window a 4/10, with potential of 6/10 depending on how big an impact the young players can make. BDCR, Ayew and Skipp are underwhelming signings. The latter two were overpriced. Buonanotte looks promising, but being a loan takes the gloss off. El Khannouss, Okoli have some potential, but if Okoli doesn't get a look-in, then I wonder what the point of him is at that price. Edouard is OK. Not shifting Ward, Iversen, Soumare or Souttar (permanently) is poor, while understandably losing KDH is just a bad thing. Iheanacho, Albrighton and Praet have left on frees and not been upgraded. Some OK outgoing loans, which hopefully will translate into higher value to us next season.
  12. We couldve done worse than offering a loan deal for Chilly. We look a bit light in the fullback areas.
  13. To be fair, it was formulated a bit bad. Would've avoided any confusion if it said he "wasn't just good". I had to do a double take too
  14. Decent signing. Will give us a different option in attack.
  15. 15 goals in the PL is pretty prolific I'd say
  16. Sure, that's fair. His movement has been great for years and his early season performance may be rustiness after his injury. He certainly has amazing knowhow and judging from his appearance on the pitch, he seems like he's taken on an even more prominent leader role than before. But the PL can be ruthless physically and he won't have the pace or strength to hold up the ball or be effective on the fast counter. If Fatawu, BEK and Mavididi (when he inevitable gets reinstated, surely!) can properly feed Vards, then I agree we have a striker that's still got top quality.
  17. Soler to West Ham is an eye catching transfer. Will be interesting to see if he can be successful there.
  18. I would probably too, because we know he can provide that finishing touch. But I predict we will see more and more games this season where he will be completely ineffective like against Fulham or Spurs first half. I hope not, of course. There's nothing better than seeing him on the score sheet.
  19. I don't know, but it isn't saying much anyway. Ayew has barely featured yet but already scored a good goal. Daka was deservedly playing ahead of Vardy during the winter months last year, but he's no use injured. Either way, Vardy is not "above most PL teams' strikers".
  20. We have no other options except Ayew. Mavididi I don't consider anything else but an emergency option.
  21. No pressure, Jay
  22. He's really not. We saw that during the season we got relegated that he'd lost a yard of pace and not as clinical as his admittedly off-the-charts conversion rates from.previous years. Even last year, he wasn't sure of.starting until the last couple of months. He scored against Spurs, but missed a sitter too and against Fulham got caught after being clean through. He's still decent and a talisman, but let's not pretend he's not had a massive drop off.
  23. We sign Skipp from Spurs for 20mil. Betis sign Lo Celso for 3,5mil from Spurs. Wtf...
  24. Chilwell, Mahrez, Drinkwater, Maguire, Fofana have entered the chat...
  25. He was at MK Dons before he went Celtic
