Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
Blue.Fox84 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Tactically it only works having Daka as a 9 to stretch the game if the opposition have a higher line/more open play. Unfortunately other than running (which he’s been outran multiple amount of times) he’s offered us nothing. He’s a CB’s dream to play against, he can’t look after the ball and gets out muscled. Maybe I’m being a bit more old fashioned but atleast give the CB’s a problem with some physicality up there if anything We have speed and skill out wide, that seems to be where we want to focus out attacks. If we want to be stretching the game that is where we need to be focusing hitting the flanks for them to run in behind if Daka’s all round play isn’t there and we don’t have a CF. Ayew can involve other players and be a target to hit which is atleast an outlet for us. Frustrating, yes and certainly not the answer but definitely the best option we currently have. Without going back and checking, I’m sure we’ve struggled for goals more with Daka in the side and he’s offered us nothing in return with goals himself directly which is a massively problem if you want to be a first choice CF Were basically debating who is the least shit out the 2 🤣 but I just feel Ayew atleast gives us something to play off, finding an alternative option for stretching the game is MC’s problem to find a solution too -

Not saying we have good options, it’s just he’s the best we have. What an earth do you think Daka offers as a player individually or towards the team? You say his pace on the last man but I’m watching him lose races, gets out muscled by every defender he’s come across and that’s even if your lucky enough to see him stay on his feet. All well and good stretching the game but when your hitting in behind and losing it every time for either the opposition to either regain possession or out for goal kicks it’s not worth him being there. We ultimately play 343 in possession with x2 10’s. A CF dropping deep with rotation of runners from the 10’s is effective for the team. As with the goal then, atleast you can hit the 9 who can pin his CB to play off too. You’re not going to get pace in behind with him but 1. The wingers are fast enough to give that outlet 2. Majority of the teams sit deeper against us. Ayew gives the team alot more than Daka. Honestly after about 5 years of Daka and from what has been seen of him this season without the tag of being in Vardys shadow, he’s failed miserably and offered the team nothing. -

Our best CF option to how we want to play. How people think Daka is the answer is beyond me, atleast Ayew can hold the ball up, play back to goal and be physical to allow the x2 10’s to play into/beyond Daka doesn’t even look fast anymore 🤣 -
They also have players running through brick walls for each other and playing for either free or next to nothing. We have a board who is running the club into the ground and overpaid players who don’t want to be here and show the supporters little respect/appreciation. Massive difference between the 2 Sheff Weds are in a similar position to us back in the early 00’s, club was ****3d but the players gave everything so the fans got behind them *edit - autocorrect fans
-
People can’t be going for him already surely!? 🤣 Admittedly I never watched the game tonight but most who played are what majority would select on here and was asking for on Sunday. This team has lost all identity of what we were built on 10 years ago, things won’t get better until a majority of this lot are gone He has had a month less than every other team to work with the players, very likely he has very little room to sign any players until (and if) more players can be moved on and has players in there who’s egos don’t match their ability So far I’ve seen a manager looking to have a style of play and was capable of making decisions to change the outcome of the game. That’s better than the last 2 managers we’ve had here.
-
He isn’t the only player responsible for us getting relegated but he’s also isn’t the only player that’s received criticism from the fans. Boo’ing him is soft compared to some places where he can end up playing 🤣 Typical player that ego doesn’t match his ability.
-
He ain’t the first player to be boo’d by his own fans and won’t be the last Don’t mind players showing passion but definitely came across as arrogance and out of touch The club is a mess, we’ve just been relegated again with a lot of players responsible for it playing yesterday. You’ve got a new manager who looks to be trying to build a connection with the fans and you’ve got a CB who has been apart of 2 relegations cupping his ears and shushing the fans, sums a lot of our problems up.
-
Seems invested in the club/fans and has successfully been able to change the game with game management. Better than the sh!t we’ve had since Enzo, hope he does well and the club actually support him properly
-
Unfortunately for Marti, he’s coming into a club with a lot of negativity surrounding it. Yes it might be a fresh start for him and fans will want to see him do well but whilst their is alot of questions unanswered from the top and overpaid/self entitled players who continue to be here who have been responsible for 2 relegations, fans are going to continue to voice their feelings. Just because it’s the start of a new season it doesn’t mean that everyone should just forget and move on
-
Pressing? Watch them go long ball and allow us time to play around the back. We need goals, Daka ain’t giving you that 🤣
-
We need someone who can control the game. Dropping Ayew in as a 10 takes Bilal out, seems pointless just to bring on a CF who can’t score and pace will be not needed
-
Apart from pace, what does Daka offer? The longer this game goes on the deeper Sheff Weds are going to drop. Ayew will be the better option, atleast he can hold up and has better quality in the 18 yard box
-
Is anyone actually surprised!? 🤣 Skipp, Soumare, Vesty and Justin all in the starting line up Carry on and hope for the best 🙃

I miss this ground, place was special as a kid! -
Very true! Rudkin has come through the club and do believe he wants the best for the club - whether he’s the right man for the job is one thing but ultimately I think there is multiple people who are at fault in all of this. Unfortunately for him, like how it can be for a first team manager, if the team isn’t performing someone gets put on the chopping board whether it’s directly their fault or not. I think a lot of fans just want to see that there’s been some sort of action/change taken and with his name and position probably most well-known, he either needs to force bigger decisions within the club to be seen to be making an impact or unfortunately be the man that gets pushed over-board
-
I respect the loyalty and optimism but in all honesty from what we have experienced these past 2-3 years do you see or believe in a change for the good under the current regime? I think every Leicester fan can accept they won’t win every game, cup or even retain the best players for forever but we do want to feel a connection with the club, have the club well-ran, fans treated with loyalty and respect, a club with an identity and players (preferably local) who want to fight for the badge. Many of us have endured the lows of administration etc but if I’m completely honest, I’ve never felt so disconnected from the club as I have right now
-
Come here for a lucrative pay day and stinks of a club with no guidance or direction. The ignorance and incompetence from the top is astonishing, how we have gone from being one of the most respected and envied teams to a complete laughing stock is painful Every club has its flaws but I can’t think of many teams who have been as poorly managed as ourselves
-
This is one of the biggest things for me, as time as gone on Rodgers has slowly started to look like the Saint in all of this when ultimately a lot of his failings was the start to it all I think as a club we gambled big hoping it would pay off without realising the infrastructure was falling apart within - staff at the top have left who was apart of build and also members behind the scenes have gone from analysis, groundsman etc The 5th place finishes was a failure in my opinion especially considering the position we were in during the season and the gamble we had took - we had done well with the sales of Mahrez and Maguire but when we’ve spent consecutive transfer windows signing players at £20-30m it’s clear what the ambition was to achieve Falling to act quicker with Rodgers once he clearly lost interest in the job and started to create his excuses was a failure - begrudgingly pay the reported £5m compo and retain PL status. Failing to act on the £5m has ultimately cost the club millions, we’ve lost PL money, sold players at reduced fees, overpaid on wages for players we can’t get rid of which continues to mount FFP charges with possible points deductions now and have also seen £100’s of millions of talent walk away from the club for free as there is clearly no longer any form of direction or project here for a player to be interested to be apart We have one of the best training ground facilities in the country, only Leicester can build something that could arguably be too big and fail to build any form of project when in such a strong position to attract players - other clubs are catching up and Seagrave will be no more attractive that majority of the league soon too so our only real ‘selling point’ will quickly become a huge financial risk that resulted in no advantage to the club.
-
Possibly later down the line whilst he was here but I’m pretty sure he lived in Leicester and possibly off of London Road in the early days. We were doing well as a club so nobody seen much of an issue to these things aswell as a group of players living Cheshire way

Couldn’t really understand the need to go with a back 5 when Forest were effectively playing with 10 men for the last 10 minutes but I’ll take the draw to see Forest rattled 🤣 -
Collectively it’s poor all over and just highlights how bad we are. We’re discussing a lot of things tactically but when you strip it back it’s down to communication and work rate. A lot of these players have been playing together for 2-3 seasons in this formation and for the fact we struggle to have any form of organisation and work rate is an absolute sh!tshow, they look like a bunch of players who have just been thrown together. Can’t wait to see these players and RvN gone. If the board struggle to recognise all of this then they can go too because this isn’t the Leicester City I recognise or love

At this point it has to be one of two things; 1. We can’t afford to sack him and we will wait till this seasons books are closed 2. The board are happy with either what he’s done or his plans Either way it’s a poor state of affairs and shows how incapable and poorly ran this club has become. We should never be in a position that we are forced to sit and watch the ship sink as badly as it has with no actions or how blinded the board are to believe that someone who has been so poor could be the right man to get us out of the championship. At this point it looks like RvN is saying and doing all the right PR stunts to save his career stating the club hasn’t spoken to him (could be true which is poor on our point and but gives him an angle to say there is no support to allow him to be successful) and by saying we should be focusing on academy (which I do believe we should) however I don’t think it’s been done correctly. -
I’m not quite sure on that one tbh, in the initial build up out wide both CB’s are occupied by 2 wolves players. Personally I wouldn’t want my CB going out there when we are so unorganised to try and win the ball and he is also marking a man as the ball is played in behind. At the point of the ball getting played across he is protecting the front post from a ball played across and to block the wolves CF who has ran between Faes and Coady. Ultimately it’s lazy play by Soumare, Ndidi and also FB (who is close to Cunha when he begins his run) that has killed us. An oppositions attacking midfield should not be running into the 18 yard box with nobody tracking or close enough to challenge. In all fairness, I do believe Faes is a front footed defender which is where he is glossing on the ‘interceptions’, he’s just not very good at it and definitely doesn’t help when collectively we are so poor out of possession
-
I’m not Faes’ biggest fan like the rest, but in all fairness I can’t see how he is to blame for this and don’t think his positioning is too bad. The issue starts when we are torn apart in a 3v2 out wide. Ndidis defending is shocking by cutting off the pass to go back rather than the pass on the inside to make it a 2v1. Soon as they have played the pass in behind from there we are in big trouble. Ricky P initially goes with the runner (correct decision) before then closing down the space/player on the ball The biggest culprit in all the goal then being scored is Soumare - he has not tracked his man and is marking nobody in the 18 yard box. Collectively between Ndidi and Soumare they have killed us with that goal both at separate occasions. Even by the still shot of the goal, both of them are all over the place. The defence has a lot to answer for but with such poor protection in front of it, it’s going to get exposed
-
This goal doesn’t get spoken about often enough, pure class! To do it against Germany too 😮💨
