1. Maybe they were asleep, what with it being their bedtime and that. 2. The odds of scooping up three sleeping kids and bundling them out of a building without either waking them up and starting a riot, or arousing the merest whiff of suspicion from passers-by are not favourable, even for the boldest of paedophiles. 3. I don't think it's standard practice to interview two year-old kids. How would they stand up to cross-examination in a court?

The various eyewitness accounts of the evening of May 3 make for baffling reading. So many contradictions; its like they were all as pissed as newts. Which doesn't really make anyone look good. If one or both of the McCanns were involved in the disappearance of their daughter, they (the McCanns) must have given a performance of absolute chilling sang-froid that night for none of their friends to have had an inkling that anything was awry. Unless others did - in which case the conspiracy theorists can knock themselves out. It would help if the "death-smelling" Portugese superdogs could find an actual dead body to go with the theory. So much of what is purported to have happened is utterly bizarre, both the known facts and the police theory. Horrible.

HELP is at hand for General PC queries, not Foxestalk ones

It's the first time in bloody ages that I've had some peace and quiet to myself. It seemed a shame not to use it to my advantage. -

Yeay! Just finished my first home-build PC. It didn't blow up, Vista has installed fine and everything seems to be working ok. I spent an age researching this, getting the right components etc. I was quite surprised at actually how quick it was to put together - about 2 hours (fiddly) labour. Now I've just got to tinker with BIOS and the motherboard options, the fans and then find my way around the brand new OS. Of course, it could all go horribly wrong, but I've built myself a basic system for a fraction of the off-the-shelf price and can now upgrade to my hearts content. [/smug] -

A very professional performance. Apart from one HD misfield, they played perfect out-cricket. LCCC in 20/20 are an example of why I love cricket so much as a sport. You don't have to be the fastest, the strongest, the biggest hitters etc etc. If you play to a plan, play as a team and do the basics really well, the sum of those things becomes greater than the individual parts. Then you can go have beers after you win. -

Aye. Dame Gary, Alan Smith, Claridge, Matt Jones, Mark Bright. Managers - Pleat, McLintock, O'Neill, Bassett. There must be some others....?

I've also been told my skin feels very reminiscent of a young Alan Titchmarch. Reet Bonnie, in fact.

I'm an intriguing mixture of Zinedine Zidane, Callum Best, Judge Reinhold and Martin Clunes.

The test results aren't back yet, but early indications suggest that's the funniest lookalike ever.

Is it me, or are the inhabitants of Group H (Spain, Tunisia and Ukraine in particular), just out to ruin everyone's World Cup by being impossible to predict?

Having a friggin' horrible run of late - only a frankly rude punt on Ivory Coast 3-2 Serb'n'Mont at 28-1 has brought me back in the black (just). Betting on football should be viewed as a long-term, low gain affair. I'm gonna have to cook up something spectacular for the QFs. Any ideas, people?

Dennis Lawrence and Marvin Andrews 66-1 (each) to score 1st goal today v England. Tomorrow, treble: Argentina win, Cote D'Ivoire win, Mexico-Angola draw
-
I'm guessing the Saudis messed up a lot of people's bets today - mine included.
-
I've got: Argentina to win at 9-1. Argentina and Ivory Coast to qualify from their group at 6-1 (I think). and a treble today on Korea, France and Brazil that Togo are currently bollocksing for me. After yesterday, I might think about an each-wayer on the Czechs. They looked reet good.

How random! Jamie Lawrence autobiography?! Mind you, he did a stretch inside for something or other (robbery?) so he's probably got more than the odd tale to tell.

Gonna have to be careful here because I don't want to upset the great man, but I reckon it could be the hombre in the shades. A cool cat, like our own.

Hugh something. I think he's been released now, but as the K-meister suggests, he was as nutty as one of davieG's fruit cakes.

The drummer might have done a cover - he got sent down for attempted murder.

Let's get mad and break things. Aaaargh.
