  1. I watched it from the first to the third goal and they really weren't all that. Same sort of corner goal they got against us (first 'shot' just bounced of his shoulder), one of the worst OGs ever and a soft peno - beyond that a couple of wasted counters whilst ipswich huffed and puffed and got nowhere. Leeds were totally in control but more because ipswich were, as you say, shite.
  2. And 24 points ahead of 7th! That's an entire stoke city ahead of the non-play-off positions.
  3. Your post summed up in one image...
  4. Whilst still creating 9 shots...
  5. Not a case of getting ahead of myself - it's not like i was making an open wager with the forum, just expressing how i feel right now - in a few games i might feel different. But right now our last 7 games reads: W6 D1 L0 F18 A6 GD+12 P19 That's ridiculously good - how can we fear anybody (right now) playing like that.
  6. From what i've seen of ipswich, they're the sort of team we should do well against. I just can't see us not drawing at least one of those fixtures - they've dropped points in 17 games between them. And the 'frustrating games' seem to be a thing of the past - the only frustrating results have been when we've played under par, but we haven't played below ourselves for any of the last 7 games.
  7. They're poor at the back and are unlikely to park the bus. leeds scored some very soft goals against them - personally i think they're there for the taking, as long as we keep it nice and tight at the back.
  8. Wouldn't say it was a mistake - those two are still scoring 0.6 and 0.5 goals per 90 minutes (bear in mind that vardy had 0.7 in 15/16) , hindsight is a wonderful thing.
  9. I can't see us losing three more games this season. Not impossible, but we just seem to be getting better each game.
  10. It's a bonus, but 19 points means they'd have to win 7 games more than us with the same number of draws. I just don't see us losing 7 games, even if west brom or hull miraculously won every game they play from now until the end of the season
  11. When you have a superior squad and a system that is built to respond to the way most teams set up, there's not really anything anyone do - it's the ultimate 'unstoppable force'. The latest trend seems to be to test the integrity of our defence and simply try to outscore us. But the likes of birmingham and millwall have discovered that 2 goals won't do that.
  12. It soon becomes clear that the construction of a stadium is central to Everton’s defence against the charges. As far back as early 2019, they raised what they saw as an anomaly in how money spent on the stadium should be treated in PSR calculations. Accounting rules stated that no expenditure on the project could be capitalised until planning permission had been agreed, something that did not come for the Bramley-Moore Dock site until February 2021. Everton did not think that fair but after talks with the Premier League in October 2019 it was initially found that stadium costs could not be excluded from the club’s PSR calculation. On and on went the discourse, with Everton’s then chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale giving a presentation to the Premier League board. This outlined that “c.£54million” spent on the stadium before planning permission had been granted could be capitalised. A middle ground was eventually found in August 2021. Everton would be able to exclude non-capitalised stadium expenditure from its PSR calculations but they were reminded that the £105million threshold, one they had forecast to be breached for the 2020-21 season, remained in place. The agreement reached would see Everton need to seek approval from the Premier League for all players recruited
  13. Not sure anyone below southampton can realistically be called a threat anymore. west brom are closer to relegation than to us!
  14. Well, it's also disrespectful to villa - they've built a top 6 (admittedly in a rather weak season) team, we did footballing alchemy with what was effectively a championship side (plus a couple of top players).
  15. Um, everything we know about the workings of the club is hearsay - if we dismiss any opinion that isn't based on fact it would be a pretty quiet forum. - i'm not swearing it's accurate just summarising the impression i get from the various sources that have commented on that situation.
  16. What? Because he thinks he would have done just as good a job? From what i've heard, the club pulled out after the fans went into melt down at the idea of him getting the job!
  17. Nice job crushing that guy's new found confidence!
  18. Casually suggesting the manager abandons his tactics and randomly adopts an entirely new system just 'to see'....
  19. Filbert the foX?
  20. Can't watch emery without thinking of....
  21. I think it's connected - that was one of the issues/excuses everton raised - maybe it's on the interest owed? not certain. But it won't stop teams, it'll just mean they might have to be creative or, like us, spread the development over a number of years -
  22. If it's based on Opta ratings - it's very tight. their guy has lead most of the season, but mads has crept ahead recently, now hladky has edged ahead but it's 6.8 vs 6.79
  23. I really can't see west brom making up 20 points on us! the maths would be staggering.
  24. I assume this only relates to black and white incidents like offsides - the majority of decisions are subjective, even within the rules (penalties/hand balls in particular). So i wouldn't pay too much attention to this boast.
