If he'd said, "one of" then I'd think fair enough, but he definitely meant number 1. I think most of Northern Europe is at the very least on a par, Canada, New Zealand... We clearly don't stand head and shoulders above anyone else.

Breaking news on RL! Dan Cole is retiring. No matter how much people want this to happen cos they love wallowing in their gloom or need reaffirmation that people who have made poor decisions in the past will never make a good one, this isn't happening. Not saying we'll appoint someone better, but it's not RM. Not today, at least.

It seems to me that there's lots of people who want it to be RM just so they can hate the club more. Almost no evidence it's going to happen, yet resigned to the fact, because it will further vindicate their opinion.

To be fair, I don't think we're particularly worse than most countries, it's fairly universal, but there's certainly more open-minded cultures. Also, it's not the kind of thing you can say about yourself, someone else has to say it for it to have real credibility.

Yeah. I imagine (and that is all it is without firsthand knowledge) that the guy accidentally hits someone. The correct thing to do is get out, apologise and help, but if just a few people of the crowd start being yobbish, maybe you're going to be reluctant, even fearful, to get out and do that. Obviously that no excuse, but it's a likely scenario.
