  1. It honestly never occurred I see no colour.
  2. Yeah, you're right. I put him in early when I thought I wouldn't remember many. How wrong was I? I've removed him now. If I'd left him in he'd be the obvious choice. His strike rate wasn't great, but then neither was Shinji's (in fact Daka's is slightly better!), but Shinji created chances for others, mainly Vardy.
  3. Here you go. A whole outfield worth of strikers past and present, but can any of them oust our currently ineffective frontline? I've gone with players who have had at least a whole season of being played at least semi-regularly - we've had players so bad that they almost never got selected. Just a reminder we've had to rely on some real cross within living memory. But we're they drossier than our current crop?
  4. Something about Matt Heath?
  5. It certainly is.
  6. Didn't they do something similar 200 years ago? Think they call it Australia now.
  7. Which will have the knock on effect of countries fighting over the inhabitable lands (thereby rendering them uninhabitable - yes, we're that stupid!) and create even more migration.
  8. Remote island is a great idea, we have plenty. I'd especially promote this for violent offenders who just love to beat on others. Stick them all together and leave them to their own PUBG fantasies. Maybe even leave the odd axe or sword lying around to speed up the process.
  9. Undoubtedly true, however too many people assume a culture because of a person's race. Religion (and in much of Western Europe, its absence) plays a large part of a person's culture and it's not racially exclusive, but many people make assumptions. Not every Arab is a Muslim and within Islam there's different views on how the Qur'an should be interpreted. Goa in India? Catholics abound thanks to the Portuguese influence there and their culture reflects that. In fact, the subcontinent is a melting pot of different cultures. That's just a small part of common misconceptions. Everyone has heard the saying, "you can't judge a book by it's cover", yet so few seem to acknowledge it's wisdom.
  10. Everyone needs a hobby.
  11. I agree and disagree. Disagree - people do change as they grow older, sometimes quite radically, either for the worse or for the better. This isn't even that huge compared to some. In fact to say, essentially, once a racist; always a racist, is of itself prejudice. However... Anyone who actually felt some repentance would apologise for their former mistakes, rather than try to excuse them, especially in a manor that suggests they don't necessarily see what was wrong. So yes - he's a racist. Always has been and always will be. (That last line was an ironic joke btw.)
  12. You're absolutely right! You spotted the deliberate mistake! I was debating to myself as I typed that I might have got it wrong... honest. Regardless, the lyrics weren't thought through. If it was Christmas every day, it wouldn't be long be we all turned on each other and there was looting and rioting in the streets. That song was the inspiration for Mad Max
  13. I'd say the same about the term "woke". In both instances nobody particularly uses the term to refer to them, it's just a pejorative used by those who don't agree.
  14. There are approx 3000 working red phone booths. Surprised there's so many, but we've still got some remote parts.
  15. Sounds a lot like the current USA administration Ok, so political opposition is allowed, but it isn't recognised and frequently attempted to be quashed. (TBF, pretty much all political parties don't recognise even legitimate criticism, which is one of the problems with party politics, even if individuals occasionally break ranks.)
  16. Yeah, I also imagine the Conservatives being liked re: financial policy to a very high degree in Jan 2021 might have something to do with most people getting a free handout for months the year previously. I had to work for mine
  17. Kids of this generation will be calling for teachers to use stern words with their kids.
  18. Looks like nobody particularly trusts anyone with the economy.
  19. Hang in there buddy, County are doing ok! I hate Christmas. Not because anything bad has happened to me at this time of year, but for how I see it affecting others. Given how few people view it as a religious occasion these days, it's amazing that anyone does it. It puts so much strain into one day of the year. Why bottleneck generosity and pleasantry to one day (and maybe a few either side) of the year? Why not just buy a gift for someone whenever, because you want to and not because the date requires it? A time for good will towards all? No - every day should be a time for good will towards all! I can't even think it's a good fiscal model. Yes, a lot of money is made from Christmas, but relying on maybe 90% of your turnover coming in 2-3:months of the year surely can't be good? Of course, in regard to depression, it's the expectation that somehow this day should be better than the other 364/5 days of the year... and it's not. It's just another day, unless you're an actual practicing Catholic or Protestant. Noddy Holder said he wished it could be Christmas everyday. Ok, so when the turkey runs out and the brandy cream, you'll walk to the corner shop (cos the supermarket is closed and there's been no delivery of fuel to the petrol station) and realise that you haven't bought anyone a present today, but all there is on the shelves are some dry crackers, a bag of red onions and a bottle of Ribena. You're also out of toilet paper. have I made people more depressed? Sorry. I guess what I'm trying to say is... Be nice EVERY day. Give gifts WHENEVER because you WANT to. Have friends and family around ANYTIME! Of course, it's not as bad as pancake day. I mean, Christmas hasn't even finished and already the shops have got eggs, milk and flour on the shelves!
  20. Actually, avocado is Italian for Red Bull.
  21. I hear kitchen utensils remarking about each other
  22. Surely if the English Channel widens that will discourage immigrants?
  23. Yeah, I think it was stupid, is stupid, of any government to promise no tax rises. Who knows what might happen to make it necessary. Obviously, to go with a manifesto that even hints at tax rises is probably political suicide. Which for me highlights a fundamental problem (in all scenarios, not specifically this one). Tax is seen as bad. Which isn't necessarily true, though it frequently has been, especially in the UK. Tax is only bad when it is abused, either through bad resource management, poor investment, overpayment for services or just plain corruption. If taxes provide services that people want, that benefit all, create a better standard of living and which is not wasteful in achieving that, then taxes, if not good, are beneficial and worthwhile. It's not high taxes that are a problem, it's mismanagement and waste.
  24. Has there ever been a budget that most people were happy about?
