The point isn't Faes not being good enough for this level - it's the guarantee that his ceiling is absolute piss at Premier League level, whilst Nelson could yet go all the way to international level if managed well and played... so why not look to the future rather than keep putting the exact same sticking plasters on the gushing wound that is our defence?

Don't let this take away from the fact we should have been 4/5 down before Monga came on. Our defence cannot be allowed to keep getting away with this unscathed.

Our defence is as bad as it has been since we were last relegated from the Championship. No great shock considering we've steadfastly refused to improve it in going on 5 seasons... To rub salt in the wound the only player who has the potential to work up to EPL level, Ben Nelson, isn't even a starter.

Let me guess, it's going to take us 2 seasons to realise Ayew cannot and should not be taking corners? 😩

Hopefully not something he's prone to. He got a good enough run of games for Oxford last year. They were saying he's the best thing since Matt Elliott, so fingers crossed that's a good omen.

I haven't seen enough of him to be sure. Just looking for the best potential strikers in the football league as that's what has worked best before. There appears to be a dearth of the Callum Wilson/Ivan Toney/Ollie Watkins types out there at the minute though.

Would be nice, but wildly unlikely hes ready to lead the line yet. I'd at least get competition for him with Ayew as the 3rd choice/utility attacker. Richard Kone from Wycombe would get us a promising talent whilst also pissing off Rodgers who's trying to sign him for Celtic.

Hah! I know it's a bit much to ask to find another Vardy, but at least another Callum Wilson/Ivan Toney type potential young player who can get up to England form on his day once he's established in the Premiership (long way off of course).

Very promising. High intensity. High press. Quick and direct attack. Continue this way regardless of score, always looking for the next. Could be exciting IF, big if, he's backed by the players and the club. Will need to get Nelson up to England level and get another top level centre back alongside him to play that way in the Premiership though. Now the club need to do their job in getting rid of the dead wood and bad attitudes and bringing in a CF that has elite potential.

Big fan of trying to win the ball back high and the intensity that Cifuentes is trying to foster. Some of the most depressing times during our free fall stemmed from how passive we were, to the point of being laid back, from the last 2 years of Rodgers onwards.

Shocker. Probably needed to pay the wages of the 'European quality' dead wood we can't offload. I wouldn't be at all surprised if when negotiating Ndidi and Vestergaard's contract extensions they forgot the relegation wage drop clause, such is the state of incompetence at the club.

Definitely want him to stay on as assistant manager/coach. We have a desperate lack of quality people with knowledge of football and the club at the club after the last 5 year nosedive.

Yea, we're so heavily reliant on agents/outsiders now we have no people with footballing knowledge left at the club (Top believes the last one is Rudkin, but we know better) after Rodgers culled most of them and the best of the rest were poached. We desperately need a Steve Walsh/Nigel Pearson emergency director of football/chief scout combo to steady the ship.

Just need to offload Coady, Ayew, Reid, Soumare et al now so there's no temptation to fall back on them in hard times.

Looks like Wilder then. We're in such a shambles at the minute that we're one bad appointment away from League One and administration, so someone who pretty much guarantees us no relegation and will not be afraid to blood the kids whilst also not costing us another fortune is probably as good as we can hope for.

Decent run out. The only weak links were the previous rejects, Kristiansen, Soumare, etc. All Leicester developed squad to start the season would be fine by me.
