  1. Are we playing well or are Wrexham rubbish?
  2. Can you imagine the kick in the teeth it would be to him if Soutarr gets back to fitness and gets a game before him?
  3. I just feel desperately sorry for them. Even if they can all walk away from their contracts, there’s no guarantee they can get a club. and I would understand if they refused to play but it must be a heavy weight on their shoulders contemplating that knowing the fantastic support their fans have given them.
  4. Sheffield Wednesday have announced they won’t be paying their players on time again. How else can they sanction them? What else is there left to sanction?!
  5. this whole conversation has been done before. But even selling Fatawu at the end of the season will see us as financially secure for a season… Monga the year after.. there really isn’t any similarities .
  6. This is the one for me. If we don’t win this one, I feel like I will want to start looking more closely at Cifuentes..
  7. It will mean we might come back down again. To me, it’s a team like Sheffield Wednesday are in big trouble, not us. It won’t be financial suicide if we don’t go up, but, as long as we stick with our apparent new sense of fiscal accountability we seem to have found then it can only be a good thing , even if we do come straight back down..
  8. In some ways I’m a bit perplexed that we have to discuss this question, but i do understand why. surely it is morally wrong for a sports team to enter into a competition without the clear intention of trying to win every game they play. also, I think our best chance of either keeping our best players or at worst selling them for the best price, is to get promoted. i also think the prem TV money is likely to be massive in securing our financial stability for the foreseeable future especially as we seem to be finally understanding that overspending is no longer something we can do. if it takes a couple of seasons to yo-yo in and out of the prem to secure our future then yes, I do want us to go up. last season, going up to the prem.. as painful as it was watching , has probably saved our bacon financially it does also seem that it’s finally sunk in that we have to build a team instead of buying a team but I do understand it can absolutely crush the spirit of a young player to be in a dire relegation battle.. which brings me back to the first point…
  9. there was a Celtic migration from the Iberian peninsula to Scotland so I’m assuming that’s the origins of the connection there..
  10. Bit harsh really but I can see why they said it…
  11. I know we are getting desperate, but steady on!
  12. You’re insecure. We get it. It’s just most of us grow out of it, that’s all.
  13. yes, your life is so complete and comfortable that you have to get your kicks from insulting people on the internet.
  14. yet again more mocking wilst adding nothing. Says more about you than me, doesn’t it? better to put me on ignore or you’re going to end up bursting some vessels..
  15. I talked about player hierarchy in the post above the one you thought was laughable.
  16. And unfortunately BUrt, just because someone is a professional footballer doesn’t mean they are good enough to play in ANY team. 2nd division players would be lining up for prem teams all the time
  17. and so once more, then must be something else going on then, right?
  18. it’s not suddenly turned bad this season
  19. and yet we’ve all said just how bad this league is already this season..
  20. have you ever stopped to wonder why I keep calling you Burt? and if he wasn’t good enough he wouldn’t be a professional footballer? What sort of logic is that? and he wasn’t good enough to play for a terrible prem team and got the gig at a lowly championship team… that’s not really proving your point anyone with half a heart beat would have looked good in that Oxford team.
  21. ah yes, Burt with his mocking attitude but not actually contributing again..
  22. so just to summarize what I’ve said in this thread today, as I feel like some people are reading some of my posts on him and not others His talent is not in question. However, if young players are good enough they’ve played ( Monga, page as evidence) for some reason other managers have not fancied him, Maybe there is something else going on that we don’t know about? For example, maybe he was one of the ones who wanted to leave… there is the realism of player hierarchy going on, regardless of ability. these are all things I’ve said recently and I think it covers all points people have tried to respond to me about.
  23. changing the parameters of the conversation there, chap. but what you’ve just admitted to is that maresca didn’t play him regularly enough because he wasn’t good enough to play regularly and cooper sent him on loan because he wasn’t good enough
  24. So he wasn’t good enough for our team and was sent out on loan? So he didn’t fancy him then I mean, if he was considered good enough he would have stayed right?
  25. no, if you read back I have said his ability is not in question. Then said it must ask the question why consecutive managers have not played him . Keep up chap. and if I really have to spell it out to you, I’m alluding to the fact that maybe something else is going on that we don’t know about? I have also said maybe he was one of the ones who wanted out at the end of the season
