Slowly turning a corner but we really need to move on the obvious turds if we can, not a surprise that no one is interested in taking the likes of Mavididi and BCDR. Should they still get into the starting 11? Absolutely not, but this is a cup game, if they both start next week then we’re in bother.

Hoping we’re working on something in the background with Nelson’s injury too. We can’t go into this season relying on Okoli as I’m not convinced he’s consistently good enough even for this level.

He’s undoubtedly a very good CB for this league but the jury will be out until we see the defence as a collective, unfortunately it seems we’re stuck with Okoli who as we’ve seen, won’t be the easiest player to form a solid partnership with.

Let’s not write him off before we’ve seen him line up for us in League One. Admittedly the fee is high but Martin clearly sees him as a vital cog in the machine for this season, I just hope we’ve got enough money to fund a move for a capable striker as that’s clearly a priority.

Not sure he’s as good as what the perception of LCFC fans have him at. He was poor when given the chance last season, always nice to see players from the academy but let’s not pretend he’s a potential world beater. He’s not worth £10M, especially with 1 year left.
