You don’t have to have a license to open a shop. Even if one gets revoked, the shop can stay open. Even if a premises breaches repeatedly, the most police can do is close a shop for three months. Councils can urge landlords to avoid certain people with histories of doing it, but ultimately it’s down to the landlord.
-
It’s got very little to do with councils. They don’t have any power to stop shops opening before they’re open. It’s a capitalist society where anyone can set a business up and landlords there to make money own pretty much all the premises and rent them out to whoever is willing to pay.

Group L: England, Croatia, Ghana, Panama

This is absolute bollocks. NFL games always get delayed if there’s lightning in the area. -

With the bigger squads and more chance to get through the group stages, there’s more opportunity to take a gamble on someone like Saka. If they get through it’s near enough three weeks of recovery he’d have before a knock out game he could make the difference in. Tuchel’s chosen who he has to get the best out of Kane, particularly the likes of Madueke, Eze etc to run in behind him. I like the fact there is a game plan there rather than just pick the likes of Palmer etc because of games a year or two ago. -
The ‘it was better in my day’. Has been said for generations upon generations and probably all generations to come.

I know he’s much younger, but better than Tattersall? Would rather keep Cox to be honest who looks as if he’s still got a couple of good years in him. -
If the other referees went on strike…. FIFA are the biggest cowards. They’ve basically just shrugged their shoulders. Hopefully he’s chosen to referee a USA game at the next tournament.

League One - Who manages us?

Apologies aiming it at you personally the , but I absolutely get what others are saying. To sum it up, anyone wanting administration is a selfish twat. Oh and this is all not to mention an instance of a firm recently who went into administration but who came out because it was bought out by another company owned by the same owners. Thankfully no jobs losses as a result but it wiped millions of debt off including the tens of thousands owed to other nearby family businesses. -

You don’t have to explain it. I know what you want and why you want it. But it boils down to ‘I want what I want and sod anyone else for who whose lives would be much more seriously affected as a consequence’. That’s not just staff. It would leave any local businesses that are owed money not getting what they’re owed. I get why people are worried about administration too, but it is not inevitable. Bar the few seasons we’ve been in Europe we’ve practically always been insolvent if you look at in a way that you would normal businesses and that’s since way before the Thais. We had a worse wage to turnover ratio the last time we got relegated to League One. There was debts then as well and a huge wage bill, but also this time around we have much more sellable assets, and everyone hopes they get sold. Not to mention we actually own a stadium this time and parachute payments that will pay much of those debts. Yes in my opinion (but I could be wrong) appointing Russel Martin is not likely to help get promotion straight off and not getting it would put us into the unknown. But no matter what - actually wishing people’s lives are harmed so you get what you want is selfish bollocks. -

Yes. My perspective is I don’t want people to lose their jobs. Controversial hey! -

You want people to lose their jobs and all that comes with that because the club haven’t picked the manager you want? Have some perspective. -

Well yeah. I’d have gone for one. It wasn’t something I considered booking time off work for. If they’d have wanted more of a crowd they’d have put it at night too. -

You’re seriously comparing a 40 over England Lions game with a 90 overs a day pinnacle of the sport test match? I could be wrong but I don’t think any England men’s T20 has ever started at 11am and is done by 2.30pm on a midweek, term time day. -

They can’t be that interested in attendances or they wouldn’t put it at 11am on a weekday. -
Second attempt and shithoused my way to the title without conceding a goal. I’m just gutted I went with my better judgement and Asamoah rather than Jordan Ayew now.

Well done lads. Turner brilliant. -
Even the 5am BST kick offs will finish at 2am New York time. But also, sure you can just watch those games on IPlayer/ITVX from the start.

So did my Jewish colleague.

To be fair, as Arteta said after the West Ham game, the referee showed great bravery. I’m sure he’ll say the same again. -

They clarified it was still only 11 losses in nearly 10 years. Not sure if it counts the one at Scarborough where a six was needed and hit off the last ball, or was that a 50 over. -

Thought the fielding wasn’t great tbh and let them have 20 more than they should have had to be honest. Bowling was mainly excellent. Much improved.
