I felt at the time something about his answer seemed very unserious when he said it - he had a twinkle in his eye and a big grin which sort of suggested maybe he was being flippant, or taking a kind of positive/downplaying approach. Perhaps he didn't appreciate the implications of giving that sort of answer in a televised interview.

Burns was their biggest threat going forward, beating hamza in the air several times. In his defence, he’s not a full back. But you’ve highlighted the big issue with Hamza and that’s his use of the ball, especially when under a bit of pressure. We don’t play a system where you can accommodate those sort of players in my opinion.

Leicester 1-1 Ipswich Post Match Thread
egg_fried_rice replied to Muzzy_no7's topic in Leicester City Forum
First time I’ve lost my temper at us this season this evening. I thought that was terrible game management. We look rattled when teams have the temerity to come out and play a bit. We love it when they are all passive like Ipswich were in that first half, and that would be all well and good if we actually put teams to the sword and built up a 2 or 3 goal lead during those periods of dominance. But you can’t expect a high flying team to stay passive in that way for a full 90 minutes, and we somehow forgot how to play football when the pressure was on. Aimless pumps combined with playing backwards or running out of ideas when we did manage to break the press in that second half. Not only that - we have already seen this play out more or less exactly at Portman Road at Christmas and not learned our lesson. These players are not seasoned Italian pros well blooded in playing Catenaccio style football. We’ve got to play with a little more blood and thunder at times, especially when we’re on top. Now that rant is out of me, I can reflect on our league position and say obviously I’ve been very happy with how this season has gone. And yet somehow, this evening I’m left with a feeling of what we haven’t done, and not for the first time this season… And those leaving on 85 minutes with the game poised like that should be ashamed of themselves. Onwards and upwards.- 678 replies

Entirely of our own making this. Played like utter gumps this half. how did we not learn from boxing day and our fans streaming out on 85 minutes when the game is poised like this is an absolute embarrassment

Ipswich have woken up

Comfortable - we’ve kept Ipswich in a strangle hold for the most part. We just need a to turn our dominance into more goals now. I will never feel safe sitting on a one goal lead!

Dominant, but not creating enough chances for my liking

Swansea are shite aren’t they

Fair enough. That's not quite how you put it in your initial post, nor did you mention premier league opposition - which we won’t face this season, any not without additional signings next seasons should we be promoted, making it a moot point. My point is that over 27 league games, there has been cumulatively quite a lot of pressure on our defence and we have conceded the fewest number of goals. Today is not a reasonable game on which to judge our defensive resilience in my opinion because we were playing with 10 men for most of the game (while not conceding with 11 on the pitch).
-
You said we fold just as dramatically as last season, when we clearly don’t. Now you’re making excuses for the quality of the opposition and ignoring the fact we played for so long with 10. We have the best defence in the league.
-
And yet we’ve scored several counter attacking goals this season. My take was that he just meant he wouldn’t set us up as a counter attacking team, but wouldn’t put a stop to us taking the opportunity when it was there. And in todays game, it was kinda hard to chuck men forward on the counter with a man down.

it’s big willy time against ipswich

His tactics have worked pretty well for us so far this season
-
I think you need to offer more in that position. There’s a player in there somewhere, but giving him time to develop isn’t really appropriate given his loan status.
-
I just don’t see how you can get that from watching us. Cov had the better of the game and the ball for the first 20 mins and we didn’t fold, dramatically or otherwise.
