The guy’s played more than 30 games so far in his season - important to remember he started in April and was scheduled to end in October. Probably a good idea not to rush him into things, let him get settled in a new country etc.

I think the more interesting thing today is who’s made the bench; the starting 11 was fairly predictable. No proper central midfielder again, so I guess that means the full 90 for Page and Braybrooke again. Doyle instantly makes the bench over Cullen; suggests Martin hasn’t been too impressed by the later so far. O’Hora over ‘Kang’ - which makes sense, but that has to feel like a kick in the teeth for the young lad. Given Jakub’s injury is still fresh in the memory, Raviozzoli on the bench was probably nailed on today - but I’m sure there will come a time when Martin will be tempted to go keeperless.

That was great from Braybrooke, but then everyone went inside and narrowed the space - and that feels like it’s by design. Martin really needs to look at the pattern of play in the final third, because it’s lacking.

McFarlane could do with learning a final product. Few times now, he’s had the ball in an advanced position after nice play but not really done anything with it. Bit of coaching and a bit more experience, he’ll grow into a really good player.
