I like Biscuit - there’s lots to enjoy about his play.

Can’t help feel Page is wasted at the base of the midfield. I get that that today Martin doesn’t have much choice, but I just think we should be looking to get him involved a lot more and further up the pitch.

Side note: Evans started for Cheltenham. They’re currently 1 down to Barnet.

MK tightened up on Page.

Perhaps predictably, MK have realised they can’t give Page time/space and we’re now struggling to advance the ball through the middle.

Yeah, add in Braybrooke and Burns as the other possible joiners; we’re not a serious threat out wide.

Ok Braybrooke is playing more alongside Page at the base, but with licence to advance. That should provide a better balance in midfield.

Might it be a case we’ve guaranteed first XI status to Brighton in order to get Watson in and that forces our hand a little? Positives in that line up: Martin is admitting McCarthy and Cullen (could have played him up front) have been shit. Souttar starts again - I think Russell really wants to keep him. Will he do better right of centre (I should bloody hope so!)? Possible issue: We have zero natural central midfield cover. I guess Howell / Cullen would be the options if needed?

Ah, so close! 🤦🏻‍♂️ I guess he feels Biscuits had a hard game Tuesday and is still getting up to speed fitness wise. Alves can feel a little hard done by, but I expect we need to give Watson significant minutes as part of his loan.

Would we have any chance of signing Adam Webster? Would cost a fair bit in wages, but has had the prerequisites ACL injury.

Problem is, I don’t really know what he is/how he fits into what Martin wants formation wise. He’s not really robust enough to be a midfielder, so he doesn’t suit the 8 role Martin prefers - as has seen from his games for us so far. If he was signed as a striker, it’s weird Martin has gone with BDCR up top over Cullen - maybe he could prove himself more in this position in the future. We’re well stocked for wingers on the left and right, so I don’t see him establishing a starting spot on the flanks. So you know - where do we play this guy? I don’t think Martin knows and that’s stupid considering it’s obvious this is one of his signings.

I don’t know - I could see a scenario where if we got a couple up early we go on to run riot.

It’s obviously going to be Cullen.
