I think he will. Unlikely we receive a fee high enough for us to accept.
-
He's no worse than what Tielemans was in his last season with us. He'll be very useful again if we end up in the Championship next season.

Nothing outweighs an FA Cup win in my opinion!

Yes, the wages have been a massive issue. When you are paying Vardy and Schmeichel ÂŁ140k a week though, an agent for a new ÂŁ20m plus signing isn't going to accept ÂŁ30k a week for their client. Being a top five club for two years, does lead to increased wages. The alternative is to keep selling your best players like Vardy and Schmeichel, rather than paying top wages. I'm glad we didn't go down that route though, as we might not have had some of later successes we had, like the FA Cup. Also Vardy wouldn't have been the GOAT.

Vestergaard was a panic buy after the Fofana injury. Bertrand was signed on a free, but yes a shocking salary. Lookman was a good loan signing that summer. Primarily I would have Rodgers and the players down to us getting relegated. Obviously he should have been sacked earlier, which was on Top and the board, but we all know how much that was going to cost when finances were tight. Yes, Rudkin and Top got it wrong bringing in Cooper, after getting the decision spot on in appointing Enzo.

Where would they go?

What started a lot of the decline, was buying exactly the type of players that people would have wanted, but that just didn’t work. After the FA Cup we got in Daka and Soumare early in the summer. You only have to look back at the reaction to signing those on here, to see that they were met with great excitement. On paper, young, exciting players to help us continue our challenge for European places. There’s no guarantee that those promising players will work either though because as we know they have been terrible. It only takes a couple of bad windows for a club like ours, or someone like Brighton to start to struggle. So yes, we made mistakes and got relegated. Can’t pin all that on Top and Rudkin though. The squad was more than good enough to not get relegated. Strategies then have to change and we did what was needed to get promoted. It was always going to be tough this season, with relegation a strong possibility.

It’s not vital we stay up. If we go down, we’ll have a strong Championship team on less wages than last time we got relegated and not with two years of heavy losses on the three year PSR cycle like last time as I’ve said before. I didn’t say Skipp was a great signing. People are talking about us having a crap Championship team that will get relegated to League One. I’m saying Skipp will likely be a good Championship player as he proved before when he helped a team win the league and be one of the best players in the division. Cannon was sold for profit, so I don’t see a major problem with that.

It was vital we got out of the Championship last time. We had two years of massive losses on the books and a huge wage bill. We had to sign the players to get out that league, which was successful. We did also get Mads and Fatawu, that were great finds, so it wasn’t all about getting in high earners.
-
Ah yes, they get lucky with the good players and managers, but are fully to blame for any bad appointments. I see.
-
The same people that were in charge when we was in the Championship last time? Didn't we win the league then?
-
I can’t see Winks, Justin, Vestergaard, Coady or Ricardo going anywhere. They won’t have any Premier League buyers matching their salary and paying the fees we would require. Unlikely we’ll get the right offfer to sell Ndidi too. Bilal could well be around too as it would take a decent offer for us to part with him.
-
Staying up that first season you get promoted is the hardest part. Forest just managed it and then you can build from there, with three far worse teams coming up behind you the following season.
-
They really didn’t. The over performed in the Premier League. Look at their squad now and compare that to ours, because the majority of ours will still be around if we get relegated.
-
You really can’t compare the Luton squad to ours.
-
Just to add a bit more perspective to the difference between the Premier League and Championship, think about this. We already have more points than Sheff Utd did in the whole of last season in the Premier League. They were getting battered every week. They are now second in the Championship despite getting a two point deduction.
-
You are just talking nonsense.
-
Based on knowing the kind of odds we will be to get relegated next season. Possibly slightly higher % chance if we get a small points deduction. You are just overreacting like everyone else and not thinking properly.
-
Well, there will be around a 2% chance of us getting relegated. I wouldn’t call that a good chance.
-
You’ll probably get 50/1 on us getting relegated, so you can waste your money on that if you like!
-
Oh you’re more than welcome. You’ll have to wait until May, but that’s the kind of odds you’ll be getting. I’m afraid you won’t get the kind of odds the doom and gloom merchants obviously think we should be.
-
I think you can add Ricardo, Ndidi and Coady to that squad too. Don’t think we’ll receive a big enough offer to sell them. Wouldn’t be surprised if Vardy stayed around too. It’s a more than good enough squad, especially with a couple of additions to be challenging up near the top. Take off the relegated teams each season in the Championship and there really isn’t much else.
-
I’m just realistic. Not like everyone on here that overreacts to everything.
-
That's a big IF. There's certainly no guarantee we get a hefty points deduction. Without that we would probably be around 5/1 favourites to win the league. Ipswich maybe 11/2 and Southampton 8/1. Burnley/ Sheff Utd 10/1.
-
No chance of what? Being favourites or coming back up?
