  1. Page at his age shouldn't be asked to play 90 minutes in every game. We have no depth in midfeild to change things around.
  2. This. Surely we do not make this a permanent in the summer if he flatters to deceive like the majority are expecting. With injuries to Hamza and James, we only have Skipp, Winks and Page as our options.
  3. Leader. Upgrade on Vesterguard, Okoli and Faes when he returns too.
  4. At least it is a loan and we need more bodies currently, but this recruitment team need binning off. No imagination whatsoever.
  5. Very good player on his day, but way too inconsistent for this level and we need more. Saudi money and this late in the window, 40+ million please.
  6. Yep I agree. Zero percent confidence.
  7. It's yet another gamble, one I don't think we can afford to take. This appointment needs to be spot on.
  8. I think the first priority must be a British manager. I'm sick of continental managers, bringing their methods, slow sideways and backwards passes with little end product.
  9. Have people not learnt from previous appointments. RVN and Marti were apparently youth focused. We need more than that. We need a leader who can rebuild a squad of strong characters. We have a massive mentality issue and we need a strong, experienced head to tackle this challenge.
  10. That lies the problem I suppose!
  11. Ahh that's off the list then haha
  12. I've always liked Gary O'Neil, but I think he would be the wrong fit as he has struggled with dressing rooms at Bournemouth and Wolves towards the end of his tenure. Could Gary Rowett be an option - always liked him, has the right profile, no nonsense British manager - but I must admit that I haven't closely followed his career recently.
  13. Is it? Realistically could he take a club like Stoke any higher than their current levels? Other than our current squad, everything is levels above what Stoke has to offer IMO.
  14. Mark Robbins 100%. No nonsense British manager to rebuild this team with the right characters. Should have been this option in the summer.
  15. I do agree mate, it just shows have far we have fallen when we previously signed Cambiasso and Tielemans in that position.
  16. 36 year old Barry Bannan, jeez how the mighty have fallen. But yes sadly this will be an improvement on our options.
  17. One good season at 26, I'd take that tbf. Better than Lyndon Dykes record past his peak.
  18. I'd rather gamble £2million on this, over signing Lyndon Dykes on a three year contract who has a proven record to fail at this level.
  19. Continue to drain the swamp and give first team experience to the young players. Get the squad into a healthy position to assess and make additions/improvements in the summer - even at the determent of his season. We are not in a position to go up, we'd come straight back down and potentially take Derbys record. Instead build for the future. Soumare, Winks and hopefully Faes will be off the and we can properly build. Possibly, sign a stiker, but a young goalscorer from the lower leagues, which we can develop and nurture with our young players which would help the squad dynamic. Braybrooke, Alves and Cartwright will add to the squad in the summer. Yes, most likely don't have the quality for an instant promotion push, but something we can develop and enjoy watching our team again with players who are committed.
  20. Craig Dawson, come on down!
  21. I would love to hear your forward suggestions who would accept 5k a week.
  22. And how do you know Antonio is an expensive punt and Bamford was on a much lower salary?
  23. Have you got any better striker suggestions then? Interested to hear some realistic shouts.
  24. Tbf I'd rather have Antonio on a short term deal as an option over Carranza. We most likely have no money to replace, and if we did I'd rather we spent that money on James. Plenty of people on here turned their nose up at Bamford, yet he has looked good at Sheffield Utd. Both are better options than anything we currently have.
  25. In hindsight, yes, but Sunderland were one of the favourites to go straight back down.
