TikiTaka possesion based football is 20 years old! The reason it was successful originally was because it was new (well an extension of Cruyffs total football) and therefore oppostition didnt know the bestr way to beat it. 15 years on and unless you have the very best players..it is easily defended or beaten. Top end sport is no longer a competition, it is entertainment and will continue to serve up crap as long as people go to watch it (more for the clicks of i was there, than to enjoy competition). The rise in nonleague enthusiasm is where it starts.
