Cooper supposedly spent his time after leaving Forest analysing every aspect of his time there in a bid to learn from his mistakes. He even apparently recruited statisticians to help him gain a full understanding of his strengths and weaknesses as a coach. And now he’s repeating exactly the same mistakes that got him sacked from his previous job. I suppose some habits are too ingrained to change…

Leicester vs Aston Villa - Pre-match Thread (August 31st)

The kind of classroom where people falsely (and repeatedly) imply that we’re in for a crap player just to wind people up? -
Will Alves signs new deal until 2028!

Wouldn't it be a risk going into the season with just El Khannouss and Buonanotte as our attacking central midfielders? If one of them gets crocked, we've got no back-up. -
If he avoids any long-term injuries, Vardy will score 15+ goals in the PL this season.
-
I didn't want him at all after Ipswich rejected him, but now they want him again I think we should offer them £40m before it's too late
-
Iheanacho would not be starting over a fit Vardy, who - even at his age - will be one of the best strikers in the PL this year.
-
Ndidi won't be a regular starter - our two deep-lying midfielders will be Skipp and Winks. I'm not sure I'd want JWP in ahead of either of those.
-
I swear this rumour has been put out by the club to make everybody feel relieved when we get Broja or nobody at all
-
Maybe Vardy will stay fit and score 20 goals, and Ayew and Daka will grab 10 apiece?
-
Who would he replace in the first team? Unfortunately this isn't American Football, where you can just wheel on specialist kickers when the need arises.

Braybrooke and Richards have already been loaned out and there are strong indications that Nelson will follow today There's been barely a peep about Alves going anywhere, which suggests the club intends to keep him around the first team. -
Broja may turn out to be a decent striker. But given that he has yet to prove himself anywhere, what have you seen that makes you so confident in him?
-
Ah I see. Thanks!

Um, what?! I must have missed this…

Who do you want for next season in the PL
ClaphamFox replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
Any striker we buy will be a gamble. There are very few good ones around - even the top six clubs struggle to recruit effectively in that part of the pitch. Our best hope is to take a punt on somebody from the Championship or overseas and hope they can step up. And as today is the last day in the window, our most likely route to achieving that will be to target a player at a club that is happy to take Tom Cannon as a makeweight. -
Also Fatawu on loan in the same window.

He hasn't said it anywhere. -
The fact that we seem to be actively courting bids for Cannon implies we’re confident of getting another striker iin.

According to who?

Other reports since suggest we're still in for him. -
Looking at his profile more closely, Fotis is 24 years old and wasn't exactly prolific until last season, when he suddenly improved dramatically and scored at a rate of more than a goal every two games. So he's basically the Greek Josh Sargent...
-
Fair enough. But apart from that, why do people think it...?

Unless our first choice has always been Ioannidis and we won't know whether can get him until after Panathanaikos play this evening...
