It would probably cost money and nobody else is going to come in and keep us up. What would be the benefit?
-
What would be the point in sacking him now? It wouldn't make any difference.
-
He'd be a horrendous choice, so you may be right.

Assaulting his own son? How old was the son?! -
Yes I think another club will pay peanuts for Fatawu and, after a period of adjustment, he will turn out to be brilliant for them. Others will follow the same pattern. They’ll start enjoying their football and thriving once they’ve mentally shaken off their time with us.

The interesting question is whether those players were weak and selfish before we bought them, or just became so after they joined us. Would all of them be behaving the same way if they were signed Ipswich or Southampton? I’m not convinced they would.

Why would Skubala drop back to the division he’s just taken Lincoln out of to manage a club that may be stuck down there for years? Surely not a chance he’d take it?

Zoom was playing up so it has been rescheduled for 12 May.

I was intrigued to read in the Mercury that now we're staring relegation in the face, Rowett has decided that we'll finally drop the nice guy act and start getting tough. He says: “Maybe that extra toughness in certain areas, I’m going to have to look at one or two players that might give us that, where we might not look as polished in some moments of the game but actually deal with other moments of the game better." Two questions immediately arise: 1) Do we have any players in squad who might bring us this extra toughness?; and 2) If we do, why haven't we been playing them before? https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gary-rowett-explains-how-hell-10913157

I think you've hit upon something important here that we haven't mentioned as much so far. What appears to some as an ego-driven approach to leadership may have something to do with the difference between Thai and western business cultures. Thai corporations apparently tend to be very top down, with decision-making concentrated in a small group of board members, a strong emphasis on rewarding loyalty and a tendency to avoid confrontation (especially towards one's superiors). The way our club has been run under Top is entirely consistent with that. The problem is, when power is very concentrated and there is a culture of not confronting the leaders, you're completely dependent on those leaders being exceptional at their jobs. And if they're not, well.... -
Ordinarily if Portsmouth were to lose or even draw against Ipswich tomorrow, I'd be entertaining thoughts of us going there, grinding out a win and blowing the whole thing wide open again. As it is, however, I think it's irrelevant what Portsmouth do tomorrow as they'll beat us on Saturday anyway. It's a bit weird to be in a situation in which survival is still possible but feel zero nerves or excitement because you already know it won't happen, but this is Leicester City in 2026.

Doesn’t his contract run until 2027?

If Monga cannot be arsed in the Championship, why would he bother in League One?

I’m not suggesting that Top is any good or that he should continue as chairman. I just haven’t seen any evidence that he’s an evil villain rather than just a hapless nepo baby. -

Henry Winter said exactly this in his recent interview on the BSLB podcast. -

Henry Winter and Jason Bourne to name just two. There are plenty of harsh critics of our owners in the media but none seem to regard Top as a bad guy, just an incompetent one who has inherited a role he cannot perform. -

If he was an “egotistical little **** who loves power” I would expect there to be more evidence of that by now than a ‘vibe’ during a victory parade a couple of years ago. The unattractive personality traits of other football chairman such as Chansiri etc have been well documented, but you never hear those things about Top. We’re in a dire situation and badly need a fresh start with new owners. Projecting ugly character traits onto Top may help some people to feel better, but it doesn’t bring us closer to the truth or provide any insight into how we get out of this mess. -

Where have you got all of this from? Is it based on anything that someone who has worked with Top has said? Because even the harshest critics of Top in the media seem to regard him as a nice guy who just isn’t up to the job and is clinging on out of a sense of loyalty to his dad. -

The key to getting rid of Top will be to somehow persuade him that handing control to somebody more competent will not be betrayal of his father’s memory, but rather the best way to honour it. -
Yep—2023 being the tragedy and this season being the farce. Marx was right.
