  1. Well if he's starting tomorrow it suggests he's unlikely to leave this window, so we may be seeing a fair bit more of him over the rest of the season...
  2. I think it's the same with leaving the scene of an accident if there are no other vehicles involved. If somebody is drunk and crashes their car into a tree, it's much better for them to walk away rather than stay and get breathalyzed. They can later say they were feeling dazed from the accident and wandered off in a confused state, which would carry less of a punishment than if they'd been caught over the limit.
  3. He did indeed. https://x.com/RobTannerLCFC/status/1750879991271665679?s=20
  4. Nonsense! In the days before the Internet and social media, transfers were concluded in just days. Since then, footballers, agents and club employees have become so distracted by their twitter, facebook and instagram accounts that transfers are now taking weeks to sort out. It's the only explanation that makes sense.
  5. Six of their starting eleven tonight started their last league game against Southampton.
  6. The Covid protocols did not forbid people from drinking, they were designed to prevent people from socialising in large groups. So it wasn't a drinking offence at all. Drink driving is clearly a serious issue, but this business of trying to portray Choudhury as a serial offender because he posted some daft tweets as a kid and then attended a party during Covid (which many people did, including the people who ran our country at the time) is just plain daft.
  7. He has 2mg tablets. We have been given permission to give him two of these (ie, up to 4mg per night) at our discretion, but we've rarely done this. Even with his 2mg of melatonin, we have found he often wakes up during the night and can struggle to get back to sleep. Recently we bought some kids' sleep gummies (basically magnesium plus a few vitamins, available over the counter or via Amazon). We've found the combination of 2mg of melatonin plus the gummy helps him to get to sleep and get through the night without waking, and has already resulted in him performing better at school.
  8. Yes it is. In this case, we're in a bit of a dilemma because we're wary of putting our son on hormone supplements over the long term because we're concerned that it might affect his development during puberty. At present there's no evidence that melatonin supplements do negatively impact a child's development, but there's no clear evidence that they don't either. This is because there has been very little research into it. Our paediatrician explained that because it is already so widely available over-the counter in the US, there's no pressure on the pharmaceutical companies to research it. If its use was restricted to prescription only in the US, they'd likely undertake a lot more research into it in the hope of proving its safety. As it is, they don't need to do that. So we're very wary about using it too much, which is a shame as it really helps our son to regulate his sleep patterns more effectively.
  9. Exactly. He was a child. If we're going to add crass tweets made when he was a child to his rap sheet, it's starting to look like a desperate attempt to throw mud at him by implying a pattern of behaviour over many years when in reality nothing of the sort exists. It's just a witch hunt, and when the Muslim stuff is thrown in too, it starts to look like a racist witch hunt.
  10. Such as? Surely you're not throwing the Covid party thing in with this?!
  11. It's up to Maresca to decide how to manage his squad. We don't know what's been said or done behind the scenes, and I would not expect the club to make it public in any case. We just have to trust the manager's judgment on this.
  12. You can't. We have it prescribed for our six-year-old, who is on the autistic spectrum and has sleep issues. We use it sparingly but it is very effective.
  13. A message to who? Who does Enzo need to be sending a message to with his team selection? The courts will deal with Hamza in accordance with the law. Why does Maresca need to get involved? I doubt there would be as much clamour for Choudhury to be banished from the first team if he was a key player who we'd really miss.
  14. For refusing to provide a sample, it’s a minimum 12-month driving ban. You can also get sent to prison, but if it’s his first offence he’ll likely just get a fine.
  15. Wasn't it 'J' who told us that Scott Parker was done and dusted just before Maresca was announced?
  16. They would not contemplate it because to do so would potentially incur a huge financial and reputational cost. They were psychologically incapable as an institution of taking an honest view of the situation because they were terrified of the consequences of doing so - hence their willingness to destroy hundreds of people's lives with false accusations instead. It's the kind of thing that would stretch people's credulity if it were a work of fiction or a TV drama, but which actually happened in the real world.
  17. Is that purely down to him, though, or is he being told to do that? Very often we seem to get into great positions only to slow the game right down and send it back down the pitch rather than try a risky pass that could lead to a goal. McAteer isn't the only one who does this. It seems to be a tactical decision that comes from Maresca - ie, whatever you do, don't lose the ball....
  18. This guy (whose credentials I cannot vouch for) reckons that Sensi has been 'promised' to us but that they might keep him for another week because they're short of midfielders for their game against Fiorentina this weekend: https://x.com/GianmarcoDaria/status/1749749675580588114?s=20
  19. Early on in the season it seemed like he was willing to use his whole squad and was happy to replace players even when they'd played well. It felt like a major departure from Rodgers. Now it seems he was just trying to figure out his preferred core group and, having done that, he's making far fewer changes. I like Maresca and I still think we'll win this division, but his conservatism and unwillingness to freshen things up when we clearly need it is starting to remind me of Southgate's management of England, which is something I wouldn't have expected to write a few months ago.
  20. No. The yellow was arguably a bit harsh.
  21. He clearly lost his footing and got up straight away without appealing.
  22. It's either a done deal with the announcement imminent or it's definitely not going to happen because we're skint and need to offload even more players (on top of Iversen, Casadei and Smithies) before we can sign Sensi. You're very welcome.
  23. Enzo's presser was before Casadei left. It has since been reported in the Italian media that Casadei's departure will free up space for Sensi, but we don't know whether they know that for a fact or are just speculating. We should know either way by the end of the week...
  24. JuSt WhAt thE HelL is GoInG oN At seAGraVe?
  25. Not quite. They're reporting that Chelsea recalled him because Enzo Fernandez has been playing with an injury and they need cover.
