  1. It’s increasingly looking like the decision over RVN’s future will ultimately lie with somebody who isn’t yet at the club, hence they’re dragging their feet until that person arrives.
  2. Incredibly sad.
  3. Why do you ‘like’ Martin, who has proven that he’s basically a more stubborn version of Enzo with fewer leadership skills and less ability to organise a defence?
  4. It may well be the right move if, as is likely, player power has become a major problem at Seagrave. However I just get the sense that Vardy is desperate to prove he can still do it at a high level and we will have to deal with watching him score goals for a PL or Championship club next season, possibly against us if it's the latter.
  5. You may be right, but reports suggest that it's less to do with money and more to do with the power and influence Vardy has in the dressing room, which Rudkin feels undermines both him and RVN.
  6. He’d regard either of those leagues as a step down. He‘ll stay in England.
  7. I think he’ll stay in England, either in the PL or Championship. And he’ll score goals. He’ll be desperate to prove that we were wrong to let him go and we all know what he’s capable of when he feels disrespected.
  8. I absolutely expect this to happen. At the same time we will fail to recruit a new striker of the required quality and we’ll end up regarding the decision to let Vardy go in the same way that we regard Schmeichel’s departure.
  9. I think he may just mean that he wants to sit down and clarify his future with the club, but they’re avoiding doing so - possibly because the decision on RVN’s future will ultimately lie with somebody outside of the current set-up.
  10. Maybe the rumours about the potential new owner/senior investor are true & the club is avoiding making any decisions about next season until the new man is in place? It would explain why RVN believes there is a chance he'll still be here next season...
  11. Thee rumours are about new ownership or at least a new senior investor, so a bit more than just deckchair shuffling underneath Top.
  12. Ok, so there are obviously a lot of rumours going around about it. Hopefully there's substance behind them - it will be massive disappointment if nothing comes to fruition.
  13. What was the context of the 'watch this space' - ie, what question was he answering?
  14. It should make RVN's press conference a bit easier today if he's given the chance to wax lyrical about Vardy for as long as he wants...
  15. It is literally the end of the era that brought us more joy than we could ever have imagined. That era had to end one day, and it was always going to be painful when that day came.
  16. This news might reduce some of the I'm working from home and am still avoiding clicking on the video as I know what it will do to me...
  17. Brilliant pod this week. It was instructive to hear Jonathan Norcroft confirm what most of us have suspected for a while: that we've stubbornly stuck with a model that has become outmoded while other clubs (including some usually considered smaller than us) have overtaken us and left us behind. Also interesting to hear his observations about RVN - ie, that he's trying to set high standards and push us in the right direction but is struggling with a squad culture that had already become rotten beyond repair before he set foot in Seagrave. I actually felt more favourably disposed to RVN after that (although that feeling will no doubt disintegrate again at 1.45pm on Saturday when we learn that Faes, Soumare and Bobby DCR are starting against Wolves...). Hopefully these rumours about changes at the top of the club come to fruition. The fork in the road that now faces us is much bigger than the one we faced two years ago - get it wrong now and we could be facing years in the wilderness. Hopefully the Thai government (or whoever) is sufficiently motivated to prevent that to ensure that decisive action is taken.
  18. “Kids, I don’t know why you’re getting so excited about Santa coming at Christmas. You know he isn’t real!” Unkind and unnecessary
  19. Dyche would likely replace Coady with somebody more experienced.
  20. Presumably that‘s what the ongoing arbitration process is trying to establish. I’d imagine we’ll find out fairly soon.
  21. Transfer embargo? Highly unlikely this summer but we may get one in January if our accounts for next season are looking ropey. Points deduction? Possibly. The EFL is no doubt trying to find a way to do it - it just depends on whether they find it.
  22. Devastated
  23. Our fans are among the most passive and undemanding in the country. That's part of our problem.
  24. It's being widely reported, so there may be something in it. It sound like Leeds are looking at how the previous six promoted teams have fared in the PL and have decided they'll need to be ruthless in order to survive. Good for them if so.
