  1. The arrival of around 3000 new season ticket holders should hopefully help in this regard, especially if some of the more toxic element haven't renewed.
  2. It's going to be his song, so you'd probably best get used to it.
  3. I think it must be as he definitely is not 1/100 on either the main site or the exchange. Exactly. It's such a thin market because nobody really has a clue who it's going to be, possibly including Top and Rudkin themselves.
  4. O'Neil is 14/1 on the betfair main site. He's at 4/1 on the exchange, but so are about 12 other names. In fact, every name listed apart from Dyche, Rohl and Carrick is at 4/1 on the exchange.
  5. João Brioche-Bun, the up and coming young Portuguese manager?
  6. 5/4 now. Not a dramatic change, but now closer to Dyche, who’s still at 1/1.
  7. Previously he has argued that the PL probably would not be able to impose a points deduction while we’re in the Championship because the rule change that allows this to happen occurred after our breach. Is he sticking to this line or does he now believe we will get some kind of deduction this season?
  8. He experimented for one game in a way that everyone seemed happy about before kick-off, then it backfired. One failed experiment does not make him s bad manager.
  9. Well this summer he's been pouring liberal amounts of cold water on claims that we'll get a massive deduction, so let's hope he's not a clueless twat. He's also very good mates with Nick De Marco, so presumably has an inside track on how the club is likely to defend itself against the latest PL charges...
  10. Presumably because we think he's the best candidate?
  11. Telegraph article seems to dismiss this possibility.
  12. He's gone. I don't think there is any doubt about that. Who replaces him is anybody's guess given the complete absence of credible rumours.
  13. Are these just general emotions or are you responding to something specific?
  14. I tried to make it clear that I wasn’t defending Rudkin, but obviously I wasn’t clear enough! All I was trying to say was that a good manager can sometimes override a bad DoF, although obviously it would be much better to have a decent DoF AND a decent manager…
  15. Rudkin has been DoF since 2014. During that time we won the PL, the FA Cup and the Championship. I’m not saying any of those things were because of him, but clearly we can sometimes be successful in spite of him.
  16. Good to hear. If I'm wrong and he does indeed have the character as well as coaching ability to be a manager, good luck to him - I wish him all the best.
  17. It doesn't - you can of course be nice and likeable but still have enough of an 'edge' to make difficult decisions. I'm just not convinced King has that edge.
  18. He may turn out to be a fine coach but he's not a manager. He's widely regarded as a very nice and likeable bloke, but to be an effective manager you need to be ruthless and thick-skinned enough to make unpopular decisions. I just don't think he's the type for that kind of role.
  19. No he isn't. But he might be able to take pre-season training for a few days, or even a week, before we get somebody else in.
  20. I don't think any journalists have much of a clue what will happen - that same Telegraph article said that while we're expected to sack RVN next week, "there are no guarantees that will be the case". As the article was written by a colleague of John Percy, it's fair to assume that even reporters usually considered ITK still don't have the foggiest idea what will happen. The links to Dyche over the weekend were also very flimsy - just a rehash of an old story rather than anything new.
  21. A Telegraph article yesterday said that King might take over as interim manager if RVN is sacked next week, but it didn't seem to be based on actual info, more guesswork.
  22. The EFL knows Rohl is coming to us and decided to spice things up another way.
  23. We haven't and we obviously wouldn't if Rohl got us promoted.
  24. It’s being reported in the Sheffield Star: https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-danny-rohl-preseason-5195320
