Went to the last pre season game we had against them. Easy trip and nice enough ground/town. Think it was a Saturday/Sunday that time though?

First and foremost for me, having someone with a point to prove is exciting. Going away and studying and improving is all encouraging. Eddie Howe hadn’t the faintest idea what a defence was at Bournemouth… he rocked up at Newcastle and they were rock solid within a few months. He literally spent his entire year off working on his weakness. Hopefully cooper has done the same and found the right balance between counter attack and an element of possession football.

I mentioned last time he was odds on that it would be interesting to see who he wants to sign, as he's always signed the same players (took England youngsters to Swansea then took them to Forest) Problem he has is pretty much every single one of his go-to's is unatainable. This will be the first time he's had to sign anyone outside of his usual cohort. (It was very easy to tell which signings were his at Forest)

Hard to desipher exactly what @LinekersLugs is trying to say but... - Top wanted Potter - Rudkin wanted Cooper (because he assumed that would give him more control) - Potter wanted his own head of recruitment/potentially even his own DOF? - Cooper actually wants more control than Rudkin was expecting - Rudkin is now having to agree to those terms with Cooper as the alternative is Potter and probably being eased out of his own job?

Wonder if we've finally signed that young midfielder from Huddersfield? Think he's out of contract this summer.

Do we actually know what his style is? He played intricate passing stuff with England and Swansea (you don't get a choice at Swansea!). Forest played some good stuff at times too. In reality it went to pot in the Prem with all the signings and owner control, at which point he went into survival mode and the football looked a bit grim. I'm pretty sure his preference is possession based attacking football.

This is very standard Southgate England. Amazing for 15 minutes. Get a goal, sit back. Foden looked good in the free role first 15 now he’s stuck him back on the left. Was enjoying it but just feel flat again now.
