Hmm I wonder if they'll do anything to level the playing field or will they continue to pander to the Sick 6 to make them bigger, stronger and richer than the rest of the league. I wont hold my breath as like the PL will they think the more profitable the Sick 6 are the better the league is.

Couldn't see another topic. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cq5dz0w549go WSL takeover complete - here's what has changed Chelsea lift the 2023-24 Women's Super League trophy The 2024-25 Women's Super League season starts on Friday, 20 September Adam Millington BBC Sport journalist A new independent company owned by clubs which has taken over the top two tiers of English women's football can elevate the game to "unprecedented levels", says its chief executive. Women's Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL) now controls the Women's Super League and Women's Championship, and says it will create a "new era" for the sport. WPLL – which was known as NewCo before the deal was done – will be led by former Nike director Nikki Doucet, who said English women's football has had “unprecedented growth", but can go further. Doucet said: "We are fiercely committed to building on this momentum by creating a thriving landscape which prioritises the welfare and development of players, fosters and excites a vibrant fan community, and nurtures the sport's growth." With the change of ownership now complete, BBC Sport takes a look at what is different and what might be on the horizon. What are the immediate changes? Doucet now manages England's top two leagues and chairs a body which is owned by the clubs competing in each division. There are also other differences, including the Premier League providing the WPLL with funding. The WPLL is fully independent of the Football Association and has full control of the two divisions Each of the 23 clubs - 12 in the WSL and 11 in the Championship - own a stake The Premier League has given the WPLL a £20m interest-free loan The Premier League will offer support in areas including broadcasting, commercial and football operations A new board has been founded to manage the body The FA retains a "special share" which gives it the right to a portion of the revenue once thresholds are met, to reinvest in grassroots women's and girls' football projects WSL job is 'the most exciting opportunity in sport' Video, 00:01:07WSL job is 'the most exciting opportunity in sport' What else is on the way? Firstly, the company is unlikely to be called the WPLL for long and a renaming will take place in the near future. The Premier League has a seat on the new board, but the seat only lasts until the £20m loan has been repaid. The WPLL is in charge of negotiating a new broadcast deal. The current rights agreement with BBC Sport and Sky Sports expires at the end of the 2024-25 season. As it now has full control, the WPLL can also make changes to the structure of the league, invest in new technology and officiating, and implement rule changes. Who are the members of the new board? Dawn Airey, who has overseen the two leagues within the FA since 2019, is a member of the new board of directors. The FA and Premier League both have seats, while there are also three non-executive directors: Sean Cornwell - the former chief executive of magazine publisher Immediate Media Maria Raga Frances - the former chief executive of online marketplace Depop Malcolm Kpedekpo - an ex-professional footballer who is a non-executive director of the Scottish Football Association There is also a new leadership team who report into Doucet. That team includes a chief operating officer, interim chief marketing officer, chief football officer and chief revenue officer.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-13730267/sheffield-wednesday-threatens-shirt-ban-fake-kits.html Football League club tell fans they will BAN them if they wear knock-off shirts to home matches - despite charging £69 for official 2024-25 jerseys The club confirmed in a statement they would take drastic action on fake kits England fans spent more than £2m on fake football shirts during Euro 2024 By Alex Conrad A Championship club have threatened to ban supporters who wear counterfeit shirts to matches this season. The club also confirmed they will turn anyone away who requests numbering or lettering on a fake kit from the megastore at the stadium. More fans have turned to purchasing counterfeit shirts due to the rising cost of living along with football kits becoming more expensive. England fans spent more than £2million on fake football shirts during the European Championship, with Nike estimated to have lost out on £6.5m in sales. The Premier League's popularity has played one part as to why the prices of football kits have risen as manufacturers try to keep up with the global demand. A championship club has told it's fans that the will be ejected from their stadium if they are found to be wearing counterfeit football shirts Nike are said to have lost out on £6.5million in shirt sales after many England fans opted to purchase counterfeit football shirts during Euro 2024 Sheffield Wednesday have announced that fans opting to wear counterfit shirts this season at Hillsbrough could be asked to leave the stadium stating that the purchase of counterfeit shirts can 'impact on club revenues'. On Sheffield Wednesday's online club shop, a short sleeve home or away kit will cost fans £69, while those wanting the long-sleeve option must fork out £77. In a club statement, Wednesday reminded fans of the impact purchasing counterfeit shirts over official merchandise had on their revenue streams and vowed to take drastic action. 'We respectfully remind supporters that as well as being inferior in terms of quality and potentially unsafe due to materials used, counterfeit shirts and their sales impact directly on club revenues,' the statement read. 'Brand protection teams work together with the relevant authorities to remove counterfeit selling websites and will continue to do so. 'Offline, all parties concerned will remain diligent in making every effort to close down the illegal trade of counterfeit goods. 'Although we cannot prevent supporters from wearing counterfeit shirts away from Hillsborough, we do respectfully request that such products are not displayed inside the stadium. Sheffield Wednesday have released their new home kit for the 2024-25 season earlier this summer Sheffield Wednesday have released their new home kit for the 2024-25 season earlier this summer But the club has told fans wearing fake shirts at has an impact on the club's revenue and will eject fans from Hillsbrough wearing the counterfeit tops 'Anyone found to be wearing a fake shirt inside Hillsborough could be asked to leave, with information passed on to the relevant parties.' The club statement did not mention how Wednesday plan to police their new policy at Hillsborough. However, they won't have to wait long to roll out the process as Wednesday host Wayne Rooney's Plymouth Argyle on Sunday at 4pm to kick-off their Championship campaign. The introduction of authentic shirts for some of the biggest clubs across Europe has not helped, either. A replica Manchester United shirt will cost fans £80, but for those wanting the authentic kit, which is what Erik ten Hag's troops will play in, they must fork out an eye-watering £110. Wednesday didn't state how they plan to police wearing the fake shirts in the statement Printing costs also are another factor behind fans opting for counterfeit shirts. If an Arsenal fan wants to add their favourite player to the back of their shirt, a name and number printed on the back will cost an extra £16 on the club's online shop, meaning the overall package would cost £96 for a replica.

I doubt it will be the club that defines what our defence / mitigation will be that will be the Lawyer. As they've not had any response from the club those reasons are just media made up ones based on their minimal knowledge. -
Often seen as 'not cool' by today's youths probably because they are run by adults so not that different to home.

He's only choosing footballers it's hardly a political minefield. Unless he says something like so and so looks like they've been on drugs or uses expletives what is there to be controversial about that would be against the BBC guidelines. -
Merc Fabrizio Romano first stated that the clubs were at an advanced stage of negotiations over the transfer. This was ratified by Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, who within minutes issued a second update claiming a total agreement was in place between Leicester and the German champions. Subject to a further agreement of personal terms with the player, Hlozek - who scored seven goals and provided five assists as part of Xabi Alonso's invincible Bundesliga and German Cup double-winning side last season - is due to sign on loan for the season before completing a permanent switch next summer. This would cost the club in region of €17m to €18m (£14.5m to £15.4m). A medical would then take place as the clubs look to wrap up the deal before the start of their respective 2024/25 campaigns. Hlozek has made 80 appearances for Leverkusen, joining the club in 2022. Prior to that he made 132 senior appearances for boyhood club Sparta Prague, scoring a career total of 62 goals between both clubs, and has also earned 32 caps playing for the Czech Republic.

Hard to take seriously after this. Steve Cooper is very different to Maresca and it will be interesting to see how quickly the players adapt but the squad have quickly taken to his methods and enjoyed a positive pre-season. In fact it's mostly out of date -
Just take a map snap shot of a cluster towns, villages and suburbs in the south east and compare the railway links/stations to anywhere else. I wonder if the fact that Beeching was born in East Grinstead influenced his wiping out of the railways outside the south east.

City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff

New research has revealed the UK’s most active music venues, and whilst Club Shoreditch in London may take the top ranking, one of Leicester’s own independents has made the top 10. Yes, The Musician Pub which used to be called the Baker`s Arms , really is an underrated gem in the city, with music events happening so regularly they’re now officially the 10th most active music venue in the whole UK. © Cool as Leicester -
Doesn't sound like the same situation, this is more of a 'local' amenities with a 9 hole golf course, crazy golf and café within walking distance of many residents.
